Hi all. My family and I are heading up to NH for a week in August. I need to get to Laconia to pick up a car from Enterprise before noon on Saturday (we haven’t got our toad worked out yet) So I thought we’d try to get a few hours in on Friday night which would put us on 84 around one of the “burys” in Connecthedot. I started looking for campgrounds, Wally Worlds (that allow parking) you name it along 84 and there ain’t nothin’! I’d hate to have to pull my hotel on wheels into a hotel on dirt just for a night. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

In May we stayed at this CG for three nights while I visited my Hartford office. It was nothing spectacular - basically a place to park your TT.

Check out Black Rock State Park in Watertown, CT--a couple of miles off rt. 8, I'd feel a heck of a lot safer there than at the Danbury rest stop. Easy on and off.

If you are to go Watertown for Black Rock...right across the street is a campground ....BranchBrook...go there...Chuck

Thank you much! Can you run your generator/ac at the rest stop near Danbury? With the way the weather is going lately its either gonna be 35 or 115 degrees that night.

I would think so, the RV section is off by itself,so not bothering anyone...you can see the truck parking and the bldg, but not right on top of it...Chuck

Like said on here, nice rest area as you get into Ct in Danbury......as RV section with dump station......And also, brought up the Cabellas' just on the East side of Hartford allows overnight parking
I wouldn't count on the truck stops as they fill up pretty quick....Chuck

No hookups, but there is a state park in Southbury.http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Connecticut/Southbury.html State parks fill really fast, so not sure if you could get in without a reservation. I would call. The only other thing I can think of close to 84 is a Cabella's in East Hartford, which I think allows over night. Again, you might want to call.
