Disney World area campgrounds with shuttle to Disney

Hello,

My daughter has asked us to go to Disney with them this November. I tried Fort Wilderness and it is booked solid. When talking to them they stated November and December are their busiest times. Our daughter wants to go then to see the Christmas decorations.

We have dogs so taking the RV is the best for us and them. What I am looking for is a decent campground close to Disney that perhaps has a shuttle to Disney. My daughter and her family will be staying at Port Orleans.

Any advice is appreciated!

You most likely will not find anything with the announcement of Star Wars land opening August 29th. Everything book up within hours for the year.

I have 2 friends who are travel agents who primarily do Disney reservations. Both love Fort Wilderness. I talk about them in this article on Fort Wilderness.

Jason Adams with Mouse Counselors:

And Kelly Lamb with Kingdom Destinations:

I do know that Jason is attempting to make a go at being a fulltime travel agent and has pulled off some miracles for us in the past.

As for options outside of Disney. There are quite a few but none have shuttles to Disney. I think the most convenient to public transportation is Sherwood Forest. It's an OK park but definitely not my favorite. For Disney, my favorite would be Tropical Palms but I don't know about public transportation options from there.

I have a list of park options here:

Hilda lives in the Fort Wilderness with her daughter, We first met her when we rented a golf cart off of her.

Dave, The trick is to go on every day and try to book....
I am a Disney agent and when they are showing full, they usually are . not..

What is the date you want to go in, and how long do you want to stay..let me look into it

I sent a Private message but the dates are 11/8 through the 17th. We can arrive a day late and leave a day early if need be.

Thanks for any help!

Dave

I received the PM.... looking into it now..

As of now I tried the following: arrive 8th, depart 17th.. nothing.. I also tried arriving a day before and or after, along with departing a day earlier and later and nothing..

That will change, I'll PM you again once I see something open up.

I would second the travel agent route as sometimes they have different options to them that we can not see in the system. Tropical Palms is probably your next best option but if they have a shuttle it is most likely at a cost so Uber or Lyft might be a better option and to the times you want. Also if you have a toad try the extra parking pass for your daughters hotel but be advised they do charge to park at the resorts now.

Tropical Palms is even closer than Lake Magic. We have been staying at this resort for several years now (4 month snowbirds) and like it very much. They have RV sites and park model rentals - some pet friendly. We go to Disney a lot since we have annual passes. The resort is right next to Old Town, another popular attraction, and there is a car rental business right at Old Town.

We just came back from Disneyland and we stayed at Anaheim RV park. Its only about two blocks as the crow flies but because its across the freeway its a couple of miles. They have a shuttle there which leaves every 20 min. Cost is 5.50 per day reg or 2.00 senior rate. Great place

Wrong Coast, he's talking about Disney World not Disneyland

Keep phoning, not online. They will have an up to date list of cancellations. Get your foot in the door and then call back later to add days to get what you need.
If you are talking the Thanksgiving Day long week end period, yes they are probably booked up, but cancellations happen, especially when some of those spots were booked close to a year a go.

Yes the KOA Davenport, have a shuttle. but not nearly as convenient. I don't know if it is possible for the your daughter to get a vehicle parking pass, so that you could park at her hotel.
