I would also say Capitol KOA in Millersville. They are a great campground close to DC and Baltimore. I stayed there for a while this last summer and commuted into Baltimore every day. Not much traffic that way even around rush hour.

Double ditto. Great manager, convenient to grocery stores too. Nice area of the Baltimore metroplex.

If you are coming to Patapsco State Park going east to west on Rt 40, beware that entrance will carry you back under the Rt 40 and their is very low clearance. It is better to go past the entrance, turn around in the shopping plaza 1/4 or so down the road, and come back on RT 40 east and use that entrance.

Like 11' short, it seems. I always wondered how you got into the campground with a camper. Thanks, D&M.

Couple of items.

Morris Meadows is now called Merry Meadows.

Patapsco State Park Hollofield is actually a great park. Its only about 20 miles from us so we normally stay there once a season when the kids have sports going on so we can still take them to their games. Close to the Baltimore Beltway. Underutilized. Campground is way back from the park itself. Nice (but steep) hiking down to the Patapsco River. Nice fairly secluded sites. You would have no idea you are so close to the city.

We stayed at Capitol KOA. Great manager, very accommodating. Sites are close together but for a cg just outside the city limits it was amazingly quiet. They have a fenced dog run too.

There was a car rental agency that picked you up and dropped you off at the cg when you finished with the rental. The office mgr can give you the info.

The state park is an option - I've never been there. I think there is also a place called Bar Harbor that is north of the city.

I stayed at Ramblin' Pines due west of Baltimore:

Decent place; a little spendy with lots of added fees. I'd probably go back because it was just up the road for us. It was nice to take kiddo and her friend.

I would go with the Hollofield area of Patapsco Valley State Park:
