Hershey PA campground recommendations

Thinking about going to Hershey PA this year and was looking for campground/site advice. Camping in 38' fifthwheel. Planning on a week but only one day at Hershey park. I here that the sites are tight at the Hershey campground but if I had to stay there, what is the best area? Planning on going to York PA for Harley Davidson tour while in the area. By the way, we don't have kids camping with us.
Thank you in advance

Twin Grove is a nice family oriented RV park, have stayed there many times including last year. There is a newer area with nice views mostly bigger rigs in those sites. It's pretty popular you may wish to book early. It's about a 40 minute drive to Hershey.

Stayed at twin grove a few years back while attending the Hershey RV show... nice enough as a home base... IIRC there is a restaurant on site and a pool... was recently purchased by one of the encore or thousand trails corps.... think we stayed in the x or y section looking at their map...

We were there in the off season so didn't see too many of the amenities...

Twin Grove was NOT purchased by encore/TT. They are still 1 of the cheaper campground in this area, and the offer discount for AAA and good sam. They have an excellent online reservation system, but remember, they fill up fast and early. There onsite restaurant is not what it used to be, but we weren't there last year to try there latest offering. Close to Hershey, 81, and biking, hiking, and kayaking at Swatara State Park. We have stayed at the Hershey Resort several times. The lower level in the trees gets you the full hookup sites. At that time we were in a 42' motorhome and had not problem getting in and out. The shuttle over to the park is a nice plus.

Has anyone stayed at Twin Grove RV Resort? It is 21 miles from Hershey and has excellent reviews on the rv park review website. Also to those that have stayed at the Hershey rv park, what section should I try to get into? I like bigger sites and quiet. I don't have a problem backing up.

Hershey High Meadow Campground has large enough sites for your rig, but the 50 amp/Full Hookup sites are narrow. They are all pull through sites. You'll have room to put out slides and awnings, but they aren't spacious sites.

The larger sites are not full hook-up, water and electric only. I'm not sure if they offer 50 amps at those sites, you should call and find out.

I have been to Twin Grove a few times. It was a KOA then. It's a decent enough campground. If you have small children, they will enjoy the amenities. Some of the sites on the side of the hill are in full sun all day long. Sorry, I don't remember what section it was.

We like to stay at the Lancaster/New Holland KOA which was Country Haven prior to the change over. It is on a platiou overlooking the country side. It still has the same owners which some people don't like due to their pet policy but they never bothered us. It is close to the Sight and Sound and we have done day trips to Hershey from there also. The big plus is that it is less than 8 miles from Shady Maple Smorgasbord which has fabulous food. It is also close enough to the Lancaster attractions. It is also real close to Lapps homemade ice cream. Just the best!!

I will 2nd the suggestion to go to the Sight & Sound Theatre while there. We've been twice, and the shows are fabulous. We stayed in Harrisburg when we were there, so can't help with RV parks.

We stay at then Hershey Camp Resort every year.. The sites are fine for a 38' FW. . . We have a 42' FW, and our friend has a 45' DP with no issues...

As for the full hook up w/ 50amp and you will be fine, all pull threw and easy access

Last time we took a trip to Amish country we stayed HERE. From that location we made a day trip to Hersey, and a day trip to SIGHT & SOUND in Ronks, PA. Those shows are awesome to watch---theater that even a beer drinking truck-driving, Harley rider can enjoy. Not your local High School production.

The CG is on a hill, but we were tucked into the wooded area with our 19'. The bigger units seemed a bit more exposed in the pull-thru sites.

We picked it for it's midway point between the two location we planned to visit. Would workout about the same for you.

Enjoy YORK-----been thru there many times, DW always says "NO" to a tour. I ride, she does NOT.
