Ideas on a Paris TN campground please

GF's daughter is having a baby in June so we are thinking about visiting / camping for a couple of weeks. Need to be as close as possible to Paris Tn., but not necessarily in town. Have heard of Land of Lakes area and know there is a big lake close by but no knowledge of camping sites.

Would like full hook ups but can get by with water / electric. We have kayaks and would love to be on a lake, river, etc. where I can fish while she changes diapers :). Seriously, any ideas on State, Federal or private campgrounds would be appreciated.

Time frame would be maybe mid June through 4th of July although we do not have a strict schedule time wise.

Thanks in advance.

You have been given some good choices.
My favorite campground is Piney if you are planning on spending time at the campground. You can find spots but its a busy time of year so finding the better spots is not going to be easy.
Have a great trip!

We've camped at Energy Lake CG (very nice, as it's own beach area and is a smaller CG), and Paris Landing SP. We liked both places, and there's plenty of golfing, marinas, fishing to entertain yourself. LBL also has plenty of wildlife to check out.

There's also Kenlake SP, Barkley Lake SP, but those aren't too close to Paris, TN.

Paris Landing State Park (about 10 miles east of Paris, but on the west side of Kentucky Lake.)

Piney Campground at Land Between the Lakes further east across Kentucky Lake. Very nice campground, some full hook up sites but you better make reservations to get them. Many more with water/electric.

We would highly recommend Bumpus Mills COE. We stayed there last May and it a wonderful campground. It is located right on one of the Lakes.

We will go back again if we are ever in that area again. It is a small campground and very popular so I suggest make reservations early.

Leave me a PVT message with your e-mail and I will send you some pics we took last year if you are interested.

We camped at Piney which is about 25 miles from Paris, we really liked the spots by the water. (I will look for photos)

From the web
Piney Campground offers 384 well-defined lake front and wooded sites with 283 electrical hookups, 44 sites with electric, water, and sewer, and 57 primitive sites. Most sites are capable of handling large motor homes and campers.

RVparkreviews.com shows one with a good rating. It is called Paris Landing KOA. While in the area be sure to tour Land Between The Lakes. Beautiful are with Elk, Bison, and Deer. Great fishing also, if you have time.
