Devin & Christa,
It was great to meet you guys at JDSP. Our kids had a great time playing with yours. I think that the boys had to ride 10 miles a day on their bikes. Maybe we will run into you guys sometime again in the future.

My best,
Zack

We had the site on the front right by the playground. My son loved it! Luckily, we have 2 A/C's and not having shade didn't bother me one bit. The rangers there are extremely friendly.

We are going to be in the upper, newer area. It works well for us having 3 children there is so much more room to each site. They can play and ride their bikes and not be a bother anyone. Also the full hook up sites are nice, no runs to dump. And fewer bugs than the river sites.

Will have to check out the river tour. The Kimbell Education Center is great. Kids can play with and see snakes, do nature walks and catch and look at bugs under a microscope. The volunteers who staff the center are great too.

Happy 4th!

We've stayed there twice inthe past two years, once at each section. The state did rebuild the front section, and the facilities are excellent. Big sites, level, nice rest rooms. But there isn't much in the way of foliage, just parking lot type atmosphere. Some highway noise because you are close to the entrance.

The River CG has lots of palms and woods but smaller sites. It is peaceful, closer to the river for boat rides and rentals.

To the original poster, if they are running the boats during the summer to see Trapper Nelson's cabin, it's worth the small cost. The Loxahatchee River is quite scenic and unspoiled.

Was wondering if that area had been rebuilt gooder with added trees!:B

Upper CG has no shade trees at sites, but it does have 50 amp service. Despite being close to Rt 1, it was still quiet. River CG has trees and 30 amp service. I think max RV length allowed is 40'.

Just out of curiosity... are you going to be up front or in the more secluded sites back down along the river? Last time I camped there was back in '05, IIRC. A hurricane had all but wiped out the front section. Was wondering if that area had been rebuilt gooder with added trees!:B
