hi, new to this forum, but not new to camping. i just bought a 2014 class c. we traded in our 28'tt.but i joined the koa rewards club. how do the points work, i stayed a weekend and thought i would have gotten 1300 points. but i got 250 instead. does anyone have any input. i know koa campgrounds dont get much respect. but im in my 9th year of owning a camper. and did seasonal for about 6 of those years. and wanted to get away from campgrounds where 90% of the campground was seasonal. although thats another story for another thread

So far this summer the highest paid has been $19.98 a night.

That's fine if you like to stay far away from major attractions for the most part. Convenience comes at a cost like anything else.

I use mainly KOA and GS which gives us good coverage with close proximity to where we want to be.

If a PA park works for you that's fine. When a PA park and it's restrictions fit our travel plans we use them too. Otherwise, we use whichever parks do fit our plans. We carry a KOA VKR card, a PA card, an Escapees card, and a Good Sam card. Over the course of the year they all more than pay for themselves.

The points are awarded per nite. Your VKR account will list a separate "Checkout" for each nite's stay of the visit, usually all dated on your last day.

Its 1300 points per night of your stay. If your points total before checking in the points increase to Bonus Level or VIP 1430 or 1625 per night of stay.

Also very simple to cash in, when you have sufficient points, just ask to use them when you check.

The 250 points are awarded when you make the reservation. The points for the actual stay vary depending on the site charge, and sometimes take a day or two to show up on your reward points after your stay concludes. If they don't show up within a week, I would contact KOA.
