Just on the edge of town. I used to stop at Sam's when driving commercial, foods good & cheap. http://www.clarkcountynv.gov/parks/Pages/sp-welcome-page.aspx

As sparse as that is, it sure is more attractive than Sam's Town. The only reason we like Sam's Town is because it's so much nicer than the Circus Circus KOA (what a dump).

How remote is Clark County Shooting?

I would recommend Las Vegas RV Resort on Nellis Blvd. about a block from Sam's Town. It is a little less tight and a little nicer than the Sam's Town RV parks. It has pretty good security and you can walk or drive over to catch the shuttles at Sam's Town to the Strip and Downtown.

On our last trip, we stayed at LV motorcoach resort. Really a top end place. Our site had a full outdoor kitchen and bar , gas fireplace, water feature. All super nice. Very close to the strip

Another vote for Oasis. Groceries and other needs nearby, clean, well run, 24 hour security gate and all the other stuff JimK mentioned.

Been going to Vegas for over 20 years - 2 sons live there. The first couple of years we stayed at Sams Town. It's a nice park but we found the sites a little snug. And it's a bit away from the strip. Our sons convinced us to try Oasis and we never went back to Sams. It has a fantastic office with a small restaurant and the store is partially stocked by Camping World. It has two pools - a family pool and an adults only pool. It has a grass fairway mini golf course. Sites are full hook-up, paved, pull thrus. Hook-ups are conveniently placed and we've been able to use a 4ft. water hose so the water doesn't have to lay in a long, hot hose - it's at least still a little cool coming into the trailer. There is grass and a tree between each site. It's located just off Las Vegas Blvd. just south of the strip. They are a Good Sam park so that saves a few $$. Check out their web site: https://www.oasislasvegasrvresort.com/
And, no, I am not affiliated with Oasis in any way - just a very satisfied customer.

We always stay at Sam's Town. However not cheap anymore since KOA is running the park for the casino.

Another vote for Sam's Town KOA here. We've stayed there a few times in August on our way home from Utah. It's hot, but just leave your air conditioners on and you'll be fine.

The only thing about that KOA is they are absolute sticklers for checkout time. I don't recall what time their checkout is, but it seems like it was a little earlier than we were used to. Combine that with the distraction of the casinos next door and it's pretty tough to keep track of time and get on the road.

You sure you want to come to Las Wages in august? I hope you like 114 degree temps in the shade. Kind of like standing over a camp fire.
