Leavenworth, WA recommendations?

Hey Everyone,

My wife and I are heading to Leavenworth next week and are looking for a spot to camp.

I am torn between an RV park or dry camping.

If I dry camping I am going to have to run the generator more than I like.

I prefer quiet remote spots over RV parks. Unfortunately my solar install will not be finished in time.

If we stay somewhere with electric hookups I can avoid running the generator.

Any recommendations for dry camping locations? RV parks?

Thank you.

I've been told that the empty field between Krystalls restaurant and the Ritterhoff Inn is available for dry camping. Registration and payment is made at Krystalls restaurant.

We liked Icicle RV in Leavenworth. We were there in a heat wave, and it was nice to have lots of juice to run the air conditioning. I'm a dedicated boondocker, but there is a time and a place for hookups!!

The KOA at Leavenworth was ok but not what we expected for what they charged.

Their cheap spots are 100 per night

This is high season for the area for camping, a spot might be difficult to get. Icicle Creek RV Park is located very near town along the river.

When we are in the area, we stay down the road. https://wenatcheeriverpark.org/

Nearby is a good tour of the Applets & Cotlets factory.

Many stay in parking area adjacent to the WSDOT shop.
Farther up the canyon is Lake Wenatchee state park.
Tumwater Forest service campground has been closed for several years. There is some camping just west of forest service campground.
Not much for campgrounds. KOA is about the only one, but last time we stayed there it was noisy with numerous people under the influence.
