Looking for info for Camping at Dover Int Speedway Nascar

Looking for some information at staying at Dover for a Nascar race this May 2016.

What are the benefits for staying in a reserved section on Dover Property our unreserved. What are the sizes of the space? how much is the reserved? How much is unreserved? Do I have to be on site before Friday? Can I stay through till Monday? Do I require to purchase tickets for all three days?

I have a TT that 35 feet with slide outs on both sides. Any information would greatly be appreciate.

Also I will be coming in from Frederick, Md across the Bay bridge... Is there anything that I should worry about on the bridge?

I camp with a buddy at Richmond International Speedway that stays at the college directly across RT 13 from Dover. It is called Delaware State University .. Its cheap , large sites , and for a nominal fee , you can have access to their showers and bath house and I believe the fitness area?

Thanks to all for the information. I was askiingthe question because Dover didnot update their website and I was wondering if anyone else had some feedback. I also was looking for information while Dover's offices were closed. I did go to the links and I did do my reasearch for the links. Thank you fro providing them to me. I was just trying to get some insight from people that have either done this before or are doing it this year to let me know. Thank you all for the help.

If you are the OP why would you not at least look at the links that somebody has taken the time & trouble to find & post for you?

Even if you are not the OP, if the subject has your interest, take a look. I did just that on another thread & found an event that I was not aware of that intersted me enough to change my travel plans.

Let's try to clarify a bit.
People "take offense" because pointers are provided to RESOURCES that contain everything one needs on a given subject BUT......people refuse to use that resource and instead ask question after question after question here that just clutters up things unnecessarily.
And then comments like this further add to the clutter.

Excellent link. All you need to know right there. Combine it with Google Earth & you might as well be right there.

What about size of the spaces? What parking areas are the best to be close to the track and all the trailers?

Did the bridge last April on a trip from Andrews AFB to Dover AFB.

It's high - but if it is windy, there will be warnings. If it is dangerous, they will stop high profile vehicles from getting on the bridge.

The bridge is safe and not a steep grade, and as mentioned the toll is one way - eastbound. We obtained an EZ-Pass for our northeast trip in 2016, and my toll - TV & two axle trailer - was $18 with EZ-Pass.

Done the bridge many times. It is a high one. Toll eastbound only. Done Killens Pond SP many times also. Never on a race weekend. Traffic around track area must be pure mayhem.

I've stayed at Dover 3 years in a row. But that was back around 2005. Things might have changed...but here's what I did: I called the main phone number of the track. Got information about their "dry" camping facilities....just across the street from the main entrance. They were called "Parking # 1, Parking #2...and I think "Parking # 3. I was told I could most likely arrive before 5AM on the Saturday before the race and I would get a spot with little to no trouble. The brochure I got quoted a real low price for camping (20?). I got to the track just about dawn...and pulled into Lot # 1. All they had was parking on some asphalt driveway. Didn't want that. Went to Lot #2. They had openings. BUT $60! When I showed the guy the brochure, he said "Do I want to walk a mile or just across the street"? Logic, m'man...logic. Paid the 60 bucks and was taken to what all their sites seemed to be...flat and on grass. Dry camping now...no water or electricity. Honey wagon comes around...ice and water trucks come around...and the track....right there. A bonus....you got the phone number of the operator...and if you called about 30 days before the race, your site was yours. Did that 2 more times. Worked out great. But...like I said, things MIGHT have changed. g'luck!

Have you looked on line? The NHRA drags in Las Vegas have very good info on line. At Vegas the advantage of a reserved space over un-reserved is being able to get close to friends.
