We will leave the north west part of New Mexico and be in the Moab area mid September, 2014. We plan to see Canyonland, Arches, and Dead Horse Point or other parks you might recommend. Does anyone have a recommendation for a campground with full hookups, or at least water and electricity close to Moab. Thanks.

Portal RV Park is a gem. Ask to get a privately owned space at the back of the park. Killer view, full concrete pads, and priced right. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. We have driven through almost all of them. 2nd closest park to Arches also.

We stayed at Pack Creek a couple of years ago and liked it because it WAS away from the main part of town and most of the tourist traffic.

For those who want FHU's Arch View RV Park(X2) is a great location . Being on UT. 191, right at SR131 which takes you to Canyonlands NP (Island in the Sky area) and Dead Horse Point SP

Arch view also places you about 3-4 mile from Arches NP entrance and about 24 miles from Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse Point SP.

Good job. I did the same, but searched 'moab' in the subject only. Search is a good tool for generalized queries.

We usually stay in the dry CG's in the area, so can't help you much.

BUT, this is a great time to use the search feature. Just in this forum "RV Parks, National Parks, State Campgrounds & More", I came up with 226 hits in the last year for "Moab". Moab is one of the destinations most frequently asked about here and there are loads of responses out there. You'll also find more info on some of those posts about things to do, etc. The search feature is your friend. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We have stayed at the Riverside Oasis RV park 877 285-7757
It is just outside of Moab toward Arches park. Newer park that has larger spaces.
