Need RV park in Tampa/St Pete area for only a week

Would appreciate some help. Our plans have changed. DH and I need an RV park (full hook ups) for our 35' Class A w/2 slides for Jan. 12 - 17th in Tampa/St Pete area. So many I have checked out are for snowbirds and are all full. Even Lazy Days is full! Any suggestions? Checked RV Park Reviews.com and every place I checked there is also full or is described as a "dump". Know it's the 'busy season' but come on!!! LOL
Doesn't have to be by the water and could be up or down the coastal area, but would like paved site if possible, but right now not too fussy at all! Thanks in advance.

Life is too short to wait too long to do all we want to do!!
Go and enjoy!!

We've been able to get into Bay Bayou on short notice a few times. Real nice CG about 8 miles west of George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. Don't see how you' ever get into Ft DeSoto unless you got lucky on a cancellation.

We also needed a spot the same time as Tampa Rv show , we opted for Sanland in Lakeland. Its appox 35 mins to Tampa. Park looks nice and has good reviews. Hope this helps.

If it's possible to get into Fort DeSoto go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Here's a suggestion: http://www.happytravelerrvpark.com/index.html

We stayed there a couple of weeks last winter; it's clean, decent and quiet. I don't think any of the sites are paved. It's very handy to I-75 and US 301.

Check into E.G. Simmons County Park in Ruskin. Electric and water with dump station, on tampa Bay ( canals). with the RV show in town, many places are going to be full. Interior roads in te park are paved, but the sites are grass/sand

You probably wouldn't want Lazy Days anyway. We are here now due to having warranty work scheduled tomorrow. They are pretty full, but I still noticed probably 7 or 8 empty sites.

They stuck us in a site that is barely big enough (full service). The sewer run is about 30' which I have enough stinky-slinky for, but I can't run it uphill!

Lazy Days is overpriced and IMHO not a very good CG. The site we are in is worth about $20 per night.

Here's another long shot, Hillsborough State Park. There aren't any sites available the dates you're looking for, but there are individual sites available most of those dates. The problem is that you'd have to move from site to site within the park. Below is the calendar for the time period you're looking for. You can see which sites are open on specific dates. It's not convenient, but it could work for a few days.

Not sure if this will help you, but the RV Super Show is going on at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa January 14-18. They have camping available during the show. I don't think you'll be able to get FHUs though. Check the site out below. Along the lower left side there is some info about camping.

Check out Windward Knoll Mobile Home Park in Thonotosassa (just east of Tampa). They have RV sites in the back. My MIL lives there and when we visited for Christmas there were sites open in the back. Don't know the rates, but know there are some snowbirds staying there now. Hope this helps.

I stayed in Roberts MH & RV park (St Pete) a few winters ago. They are mostly MH, but have a section for RVs. It probably doesn't get great reviews from RVers, but it wasn't bad. They had plenty of room around the holidays when I was there.
