Hey dakasa47,
So cool to hear that Lake Forest is still going strong.
My parents camped there alot (wow, probably about 25-30 years ago!).
My wife and I would go up and visit and bring my skiboat - beautiful lake & campground!
Now that we're reaching that 55 mark, and the kids are heading to college, we'll have to check it out again!

Hello,
For over 55 look at Wild Duck Campground in Scarboro ME. Its on a beautiful marsh and there is a nice bike trail close by. Head one way from the parking lot and it ends in Old Orchard Beach ME....go the other way and it a beautiful ride through the marsh and some forested areas. There are a few kayaks and canoes to rent and launch right at the campground when the tide is in or there is a canoe/kayak rental place down the road right before the bike path. The owners are really very nice and welcoming. It is a very quiet campground. That is one of the reasons we go there often. The owner Chris is very visible riding on his little golf cart making sure everyone is happy and has what they need. WIFI costs $1.00 a night. Lots of places to get Maine lobster or lobster rolls. Clean as can be bathhouse. The whole campground is kept immaculate.
Another over 55 is Lake Forest RV Resort in East Wakefield NH. Not really a resort but well worth the money. We go there all the time as it is our favorite place to stay. The sites are large and forested. It has a small golf course(Cayman course I think its called) if you play. We don't but it very popular with the residents there. Bocce Ball, Pot Luck dinners, book club and things like that. There are other planned activities but low key and again quiet. It is on Great East Lake which is graded a Class A lake. It is so clean and crystal clear. Many seasonal people there and everyone is friendly. Many people have kayaks, canoes and sailfish down by the lake as there is an easy in and out boat ramp. There is a deck along the lake with plenty of chairs to sit in with steps and docks into the lake for swimming. And a short drive away there is the Cotton Trail bike path again my favorite bike trail to ride on. Park at Fernald Station and head one direction throughout the forest and a nice swampy area. Head in the other direction through the forest along Lake Wentworth and end up in Wolfboro NH right on Lake Winnipasawkee. Dave and Judy the owners are great. Its a family run campground which was started by Dave's father many years ago I believe. Its about an hours drive to the White Mountains and North Conway NH. No wifi.
There is another one in Maine called Potters Place but we have never been there. 55 and over or maybe adult only...not sure. Its quite northern in ME.

A possible campground for the OP would be Hammonassette State Park. No full hookups, but if you can get a partial hookup (water and electric) you might enjoy it. Right off I95, and the electric sites are within 100 yards of the beach. I don't think you'd have any problem with a large 5th wheel. After saying this, I have to warn you that the odds of getting an electric site are almost zero.

.... Many of the campgrounds on Cape Cod with full hookups are close to bike trail but none with direct access. One we like is Sweetwater in Brewster.

Wake up you hibernators! Spring is here and I suspect that most of the snow in VT and NH will be melted by mid-July!
We will be fulltiming in New England this summer with a focus on southern CT and eastern MA, and we need some recommendations for good parks.
Must have: full hookup, access for 40' 5th wheel.
Nice to have: 55+, good wi-fi, nearby bike trails, convenient to interstate.
Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks!
