Nice campgrounds within 20-30 miles. Been looking at Good Sam & Passport. Will be staying there mid Sept. for 2-3 days.

Brances of Niagara was very good. There is a review and blog post on our blog if you scroll down a ways. There a a bunch of pictures there as well. Loved everything about it but was a bit buggy when we were there in July--probably better in September.

If you stay at the Grand Island KOA, make sure to stay in the front section (where the office is). We stayed in the back section, and it was right next to the thruway. Very noisy. There's a CG on Grand Island behind a motel that is Passport called Cinderella Motel & CG. We drove by it every day, and it looked nice. Woodsy with back-in sites. It has good reviews on RVparkreviews.

We are traveling to Niagara Falls the last week of September and then down to Sturbridge MA for a family reunion the first weekend of Oct. We have a 17' Casita and do not usually make campground reservations. Advise reservations at Niagara during this time of year? We will camp on the US side.

If you need full hookups, Branches of Niagara, Grand Island KOA, or the KOA in Youngstown. If you can do with electric only, Four Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown.

Pickings are slim in the area. There are a couple of cgs located behind Mom and Pop motels in the area but they are marginal.

Four Mile Creek State Campground is only 15-20 minutes from the US side of the falls. It's a relatively nice NY state campground, but you won't have full hook-ups. There's a KOA in Lewiston...about the same distance to the falls. It's a basic KOA...should be a little quieter than the KOA that's located on Grand Island, which would be another possibility, but it's right on the 190, so expect some traffic noise.

We enjoyed staying in Ontario at the Fifty Point Conservation area. It is on Lake Ontario and within easy driving distance of Niagara Falls.

From Aurora, you could drive north to Port Huron, MI where we crossed the border into Canada. That is a much better crossing than the one at Detroit, and we had no delay and no difficulty in entering. We came back into the US at Niagara Falls, NY. Again, without difficulty.

BTW, I first visited Aurora, IN more than 60 years ago. To see your location brings back some very pleasant memories. I believe we sometimes crossed the river on a ferry instead of going up by Cincinnati.
