Brances of Niagara was very good. There is a review and blog post on our blog if you scroll down a ways. There a a bunch of pictures there as well. Loved everything about it but was a bit buggy when we were there in July--probably better in September.
X2 great campground. We enjoyed our stay there.

If you need full hookups, Branches of Niagara, Grand Island KOA, or the KOA in Youngstown. If you can do with electric only, Four Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown.
Pickings are slim in the area. There are a couple of cgs located behind Mom and Pop motels in the area but they are marginal.

From Aurora, you could drive north to Port Huron, MI where we crossed the border into Canada. That is a much better crossing than the one at Detroit, and we had no delay and no difficulty in entering. We came back into the US at Niagara Falls, NY. Again, without difficulty.
BTW, I first visited Aurora, IN more than 60 years ago. To see your location brings back some very pleasant memories. I believe we sometimes crossed the river on a ferry instead of going up by Cincinnati.
