Friends in Mountain Green, Utah have suggested we camp nearby and visit with them. We're fairly new to the area, and haven't checked out the SPs (or county parks) in this area. We need at least electric hookups, and enough space for a 28' TT with slideout, but are happy with either open or wooded sites. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

You can hear a little noise from Willard Bay but there are plenty of trees so it isn't terrible. We have stayed at East Canyon and we enjoy it, albeit no trees. I wouldny waste my time at Holiday Hills. We stayed there couple of years ago and horrible rxperience. We had a 23 foot trailer in a spot "large enough" for a 35 footer and it was a tight fit. Mostly residents with a couple of campers. We live avout 20 minutes from Mountain Green vut wished I lived there. Absolutely beautiful place.

Have stayed at Willard Bay a number of times and also at East Canyon. Both are nice, but a bit of a drive from Mountain Green. Willard Bay isn't too noisy in the evenings, especially if you choose the sites furthest from the highway. It'll be about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to MG from there. Worse if it's rush hour. East Canyon is nice, but no shade (a problem in the middle of summer). It looks to be about about the same distance in the other direction. Check out RV park reviews for the area.

If you go down the road just past echo reservoir into coalville, there is a place called Holiday Hills RV Park. We stayed there last year and it has full hookups. Plenty of room to get through.

Thanks, Idahoan. That's the kind of info I was looking for. Have driven by Willard Bay often - looks nice but I would guess road noise could be an issue. Will check out the NFS CGs up that way too.

There isn't much that is really close to Mountain Green. There is Willard Bay State Park which is pretty nice, but it is off I-15 and is quite a ways from MG. Also near Pineview Resevoir there are some campgrounds that I believe are Forest Service. One is Anderson Cove, there are others. They would be closer to MG but still not real close. There is also a campground at Echo Resevoir, but I believe it is privately ran.

Thanks, all. Just was hoping for some personal recommendations from folks on here who had actually been to them. Unfortunately, the only parks in that area that I have found on rvparkreviews have been private ones; the state parks aren't even mentioned.

I'd be asking your friends...WHERE?
The closest would be East Canyon State Park
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Also check RVparkReviews.com in that general area. There are several parks mentioned fairly close. Did not check to see which ones may be state or county parks, though.

Utah is a fantastic place to visit in an RV. We've found a great source for locating all sorts of public campgrounds, including federal, state, county and city campgrounds, is The Ultimate US Public Campground Project.

Have a wonderful trip!
