Remember that anything in Oregon remotely near the eclipse path in August is already booked. The last two weeks of August will be very busy.

Oh I didn't see that you were interested in full hookups. Oregon and Washington both have some great State Parks. I would decide on what route your would like to take and then check RV Park Reviews

Lots of Forest Service CGs. Cascade Lakes Highway near Bend, Oregon. Beautiful CGs near Lakes. Great CGs near LA PINE Oregon, OREGON STATE PARKS. Best and favorite CGs is Trillium Lake CGs near Mt Hood, Government Camp. Great campground on the lake. Great view of MT HOOD. GOOD fishing. Get a PULL THRU for your RIG.

East side is under rated and not as crowded. I like pine trees.

I assume your talking about the Cascades. If I was planning a trip through that area, I would think I would start at Crater Lake and then drive up Hwy 97 north. You didn't mention what kind of camping you want to do, the Forest Service has a lot of dry but wonderful campgrounds around Sisters, and Mount Hood. Crossing into Washington, still on 97, I would go as far as Hwy 12 West and check out some of the great camping around Mount Rainier and then I would return to 97 and drive up as far as Lake Chelan and if you have time, as far as Hwy 2, crossing on it to I5 and over to the Olympic Mountains.

The Oregon is parks system is one of the best in the country. We especially like the ones in the Columbia Gorge along the river, our Favorites are, Ainsworth near Troutdale and Memaloose Island near the Dalles. Both have full hookups but need reservations to ensure you get one. All the info is on their web site. We stay at Mt Hood Villages campground near Bright Wood it's an hour plus drive to the Lodge and little on the expensive side but has full service and the drive down to Hood River is scenic with views of Mt Adams on the Way. Even though I was from WA and worked for the Forest Service at Mt Adams most of the campgrounds we used were Forest service and no hookups.

Dozens of nice campgrounds in the mountains. Most are NF thus not suited to big rigs. Just head across the cascades in any direction, and stop at any of the camp grounds you see. All will be beautifully rustic.
