We are looking for a campground near Pikes Peak during our cross country trip. We are traveling with three children....any suggestions?

We stayed at the Colorado Springs KOA because all the sites are pull through and it's spacious. Not too far from Pike's Peak either. All those close in were too tight for us.

Can't go wrong with the State Parks mentioned. And the Pikes Peak RV Park is about as conveniently located to the Springs sites as you can get, and have some amenities.

Lone Duck is a nice quiet park, but IIRC, it's a bit tight getting in and around; depending on what you're traveling with, this could be an issue...or they could have remodeled it. Don't know if they had any damage from the floods last year, might want to give them a call if you're considering them. They're up in Cascade, several miles west of Manitou Springs.

X 2 and with the right site you have a GREAT view of Pike's Peak!!!

X3...depending what the kids like. If hiking and "camping activities", then yes. If they want pools and playgrounds, not so much. Also high altitude, around 9000, iirc. A beautiful park!

We LOVED Pikes Peak RV Park in Manitou Springs. This is where you get on the cog railroad that goes up Pikes Peak if you don't want to drive. City park right next door. Check out the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide CO for a unique experience. Garden of the Gods park is very close also. Downtown Manitou Springs is kind of like a cleaner version of Estes Park CO.

We are going through there also.
I have found Lone Duck Campground having everything we need.
