Lately there has been a lot of interest in viewing photos of the sites that different campgrounds have to offer. Let's start posting them to this thread and if there seems to be enough interest, perhaps we can make the thread a permanent sticky.

If you have recently posted photos of this sort, please re-post them here. If you have new ones to share, please do!

Don't forget to label the photos: Campground name, site #'s if you know them, area of campground, etc.

**A photo width of 500 works really well.

I am taking the liberty of copying here some recent photos submitted by member 'marites62'.

Fishing Bridge - This is site 60 in the B loop - back-in, full hookups (It can be tough for long trailers and 5th wheels):

More of the same site:

Colter Bay Village - This is site 40, Pull through, full hookups. It is at the end of the loop which was nice.

We were camping in Buckskin Mountain State Park across from Echo Lodge on the Arizona side of the river on that same day. I think we heard all the tarantula commotion that morning. As I remember, there was always a lot of commotion from that side of the river while we were there. They had a pretty happy group celebrating the New Year!;)

Here is a pic from our first trip of the year. It is from Myakka River State park in Florida. This is a new campground at the park and it even has full hookups. $26 isn't bad either.

Picacho Peak State Park, January 2012.
This is an Arizona state park. It's just off I-10 between Casa Grande and Tucson. All sites have electric, but no water or sewer hookups. Sites and loops are paved with a fire ring and picnic table. Some have a shade ramada. The landscape is native Sonoran Desert with steep rocky mountains that include the 3,374 foot high Picacho Peak. Our site, #A13, has a nice view of Picacho Peak and a butte near the campground loops.

Great way to start the New Year . . . camping at Buckskin Mountain State Park in Arizona! The daytime temperature was in the high 70's and the lows were in the mid 40's. Couldn't ask for better weather.

We stayed in campsite #58 right next to the Colorado river. The site had water and electric and was level pavement for parking the trailer. It also had the standard picnic table, BBQ and fire ring. Cost was $30.00 a night but it was well worth the price. Immaculate facilities, very dog friendly and fantastic hiking trails in the desert foothills. Great copper/chocolate colored mountains all around. We plan on going back in March.

Early morning shoot of state park entrance and parking area. Campsites are just beyond the parking lot within the trees on the upper right of the picture frame.

Here's basically the same shot but in the late afternoon.

This is our campsite and a shot of the view from our trailer under the awning. The river is just beyond the small bushes, about 50 feet from the site.

This is my wife on the trail. Great campground and trails.

Veebyes, we love Killens tented there in April and November and stayed in the big cabin for Valentines day last year. Very clean and well maintained.

This is site #26 at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake (Orlando). This is a small campground, but we liked the spacing between sites, especially if you are on the outside of the curves in the roadway.

This is looking towards our closest neighbor on the patio side of the site:

This next pic shows our location relative to the curve in the road. The road leading through the campground is quite tight in spots for big rigs, but passable if you use a heaping teaspoon of caution. The sites are not particularly level. I saw a few rigs with wheels raised off the ground like that Allegro Bus in the picture.

This next pic is just a gratuitous shot of our rig. ๐Ÿ™‚
You can see the lake behind our site.

Each site has 30 and 50 amp, but not all have sewer, and there is no cable. We were able to bring in 22 OTA channels however. IMHO, the best sites do not have sewer connections.

As a final note, anyone who goes to Orlando during the holidays needs to have their head examined. My appointment is Tuesday.

I don't remember sounds of 4-wheelers when we were there in summer of '09 (June/July). We loved Deep Creek! Watching the eagles and the tractors launching boats off the beach was great fun!

We were hosts there in 08 and the 4 wheelers were loud and plentiful. Things were quieter the past year - at least that is what I heard.

Veebyes - good to know that the CG at Mesa Verde can accommodate fifth wheels. We always check out the National Park CG's but missed this one. Thanks for the picture.

If you don't have a reservation be sure to get there early so that a B or C camper does not grab the last of the not that many long sites.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park, taken in early December 2011.
This is a Maricopa County park just northwest of the Phoenix metro area.

Many sites have water and electric. This park also offers dry camping along the shoreline.

Sites and loops are paved with a fire ring, picnic table and shade ramada.
The Roadrunner Campground sits on a hill by the lake in a Sonoran Desert setting.

Our site, #23 Roadrunner Campground, has a nice water view.
