Looking for some help finding places to go for our first road trip (did a 2 night stay once so far close to home). We are in the bay area San Francisco, CA. I have about 5-6 days we will be traveling in a Class C 22' RV with 3 kids. I want to get some miles on this, and enjoy nature.

Wife has MS so we will be using A/C as much as possible to keep her cool. Travel dates will be late July-Early Aug time frame.

Busskipper has a great trip outlined for you. There is a lot to do on that route.

This Trip will work.

Close, not nearly as crowded, and just Jaw Dropping Beautiful.

I'd second the Oregon coast, which is really beautiful. Beaches, lighthouses, many pull-offs to see great scenery, fun small towns, fresh seafood. We spent a week there in early June and really loved it.

Another relaxing option is just go up to the redwoods. Lots of campgrounds, natural beauty, easy walks. We stayed at Ancient Redwoods RV, right on the Avenue of the Giants. I would not recommend CA's coastal road (1) in an RV, even a small one, and I speak from experience. 101 is much more sane.

I wouldn't go to Yosemite, myself, because it is packed full of people, and even the free park shuttle buses are filled with lines to get on.

Down the coast stay at Pismo, Ocean Mesa, Flying flaggs, then go inland a little bit, stay at Wine country RV or Gilroy....then head back home.

My first suggestion would be Yosemite.
Second, Hi tail it up the 5 to Portland, then to Astoria, and drive the 101 along the coast back home.
