Off the road for the night after driving over 500 miles pulling the fifth wheel and realized we are right down the road from The Rocky Mountain National Park. We will allow ourselves one day to take a quick look. What suggestions do ya'll have to share such as roads to take in the park and sights to see

Weather should not be a major limiting factor, as the forecast for the region is increasingly warmer. Beautiful day on Sunday, better day on Monday.

A trip up on Trail Ridge Rd on a Monday will be less crowded than it would be on a weekend. You could also take the trip up to Bear Lake, since it's likely to also be less crowded than weekends and is worth the drive up. You can take an easy hike around Bear Lake -- it's only about a mile around and is very easy and beautiful. You could also take a hike to Alberta Falls, again an easy hike of ~2 miles round trip. You could also take a ride on CO 7 and take a hike around Lily Lake, which is just a few miles outside Estes Park, or you could drive just a bit further and go in to Rocky at the Wild Basin entrance and take a hike to Calypso Falls. All are very doable on a beautiful fall day!

Trail Ridge Rd if it's open. RMNP website says it is but, call the park's Trail Ridge Road recorded status line at 970-586-1222. This message is updated if the road's status changes.

I would take the Trailridge road (34) to the summit and the Alpine visitor center. On the way down take 36 instead of 34 on the last part.
