My family liked staying at Madison and it too, is centrally located. When booking at Yellowstone & the Tetons, I don't trust online booking because of the length limitations. Do yourself a favor and call the reservation people and give them the total size of your TV & FW to make sure they reserve the proper space for you.
Yes I did just that today and they had sites that were not listed on their website. I made reservation for Madison. With my TT and my TV I was over the 40ft length but she told me they have some sites that you can pull your TV beside your TT or FW. I was so happy plus I was able to get the days we really wanted cause they said they were sold out on their website for those days. Plus Im buying the Interagency Annual Pass that will get us in the park and half for my campsites. Its half off on all of them except Fishing Bridge I was told. I'm stoked! Thank you for suggesting to call.

With our 40' motorhome towing the Jeep we've stayed in Madison, Bridge Bay and Mammoth. Mammoth (no reservations so get there in the morning, staying nearby the previous night) has some big sites and Madison, also. Bridge Bay has shorter sites on average but some big ones, too. We like Mammoth and Madison.
This link has a photo of all the sites in these campgrounds so you can kind of judge for trees, etc. for sites you might want to aim for.
