RV park/ campground close to San Diego Wild Animal Park?

What is the closest campground or RV park to the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido? (Overnighting in the motorhome in the parking lot is not permitted! 😞 )

Of all mentioned, Pechanga in Temecula is by far the best. Passport America midweek. Problem is commuter traffic is very heavy in the direction you would be going. A problem you would definitely be dealing with in staying at any of the greater San Diego facilities, such as Santee & Ramona. As one who retired from the area, I would strongly suggest that you consider Champagne Lakes. Beautiful facility located on old 395 between Escondido & Temecula.

Dixon Lakes is closest, but the "no dogs allowed" doesn't work. Dos Picos seems the best bet. Thanks for the suggestions!

Actually searched using the Wild Animal Park as the Center Closest Campground

Lake Dixon is the closest RV Park. No dogs and no wood fires. They have some full hook-up sites ($28 a night.

Escondido RV resort is nice if you stay in the upper area. The lower area is smaller spots and rather tight. They have length rules for the upper lot I believe 32' and longer only.

Dos Picos in Ramona, County park with elect and water, showers and dump station. Nice quiet and clean park.
