Southern Louisiana in November

So what's Southern Louisiana in November like? Thinking about heading that way and taking in Grand Isle SP and what ever. Coming from the midwest and wanting to escape the cold. Want to take in several State Parks, but not the NOLA scene. Cities aren't us. Been to Palmetto Island SP years ago and loved it. Any recommendations/avoidances to be aware of?

Not in Louisiana. He went to fight it. Watched another guy with the same situation plead his case. He had several men in his truck who, when polled by the judge, all said the driver was under the speed limit. Judge slammed his gavel down and said, "Guilty, pay the bailiff."

To make matters worse, once he paid his fine and headed out to his truck, someone had stolen his big cooler from the back of his pickup and dumped the contents, food, etc., he had for his charter, in the bed of the truck. He went back into the court and told the bailiff what happened and she told him he was just mad cause he had to pay a fine.

We once got a ticket in Louisiana for doing 40 in a 25, which we weren't and was impossible because we had just been stopped at the light in town and were caught between there and the next light, not more than a few feet. The cop was in the donut shop and as we passed by, we saw him running out, donut in hand. We thought he was after the truck in front of us, but noooooo. Out of state motorhomers are apparently a good catch. A relative who works for the attorney general told us to call in and when we did we found out the judge, jury and police chief were all in the same office. May as well pay the fine. While we were sitting on the side of the road with the officer, another big motorhome came around the corner. Mind you, the officer was outside of his car and he flagged that motorhome down. As they slowed down, the woman in the passenger seat opened her window and passed an envelope out to the officer who grabbed it and the coach drove on. Hmmmm.

I’ve spent many falls and winters around there. If you’re looking for weather like a northern summer you’ll be disappointed. I’d describe it as pleasantly cool days and chilly nights. There’s always the chance of a wild shift in either direction but it doesn’t last long.

Be careful when you are headed south toward Grand Isle. There are speed traps everywhere. I think it was in Golden Meadow DH's cousin, who ran a fishing charter from Leeville, got a speeding ticket for going 16 in a 15.

I'd be more interested in the availability of low cost RV parking. the way to spend the winter with out breaking the bank.

Warm in day cool at night. Neither to extreme.

Poche's Fish 'n Camp in Breaux Bridge. Self-proclaimed crawfish capital of the world. Great food, within driving distance of Avery Island. Been there is February and it was shirt-sleeve weather.

And James is correct, I-10 in that area is miserable.
