We bought a 24’ C class RV last Nov. and after a few three day trips, we took our first “real” trip (11 days) to Vancouver Island in July. We are now ready to take our next trip during the first half on Oct..
WHERE TO GO?!?!
We live in Northern CA, and plan to be gone for 7 to 10 days. Will be taking our two small dogs and one cat.. Prior to retiring, we took many trips up the California, and Oregon coasts, but would like to go somewhere we haven’t been. Would like to go to Glacier Park, but afraid this might be too late to go ...(snowy roads?)
We would love to hear your suggestions as to where to go. We like to sightsee ...we don’t bike, or hike (except short trails). I guess basically, we love driving thru scenic places, stopping and looking around when we want, short walk/hike ...repeat. Generally we spend only one night at a campground/RV Park, then move on, so we can see more, Fall colors would be nice, but may be too late. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Eastern Oregon, SW Idaho, Sawtooth area of Central Idaho, Bitterroot Valley in W Montana. All very nice, and should be good weather wise in the first part of October, but all can have snow at any time then!!

Look into visiting Steens Mountain in SE Oregon. Would be right on the path for you coming from N CA.

We have not been to any of these places, but sounds interesting. Will look them up, and see what I can find. Thank you.... Linda

Depending where you live, what about Hwy 395 going south. Mono Lake, Bishop, Alhambra Hills, Red Rock Park, Death Valley,. and then come back up 99

They have already had snow this year in the high country down to Colorado, and record low temps in early September. I would go south and lower altitude. Southern Utah is close enough so you won't waste all your time driving. YNP is too far.

How about Yellowstone and Grand Teton? You could get a snow but it won’t stick for long. Or, just take off and wing it. It’s a great time of year to do that!

We really like Silverton Oregon, just east of Salem about 25 miles. A great RV park 1/4 mile out of town, Silver Spur. Many sights to visit. Botantical garden with trolly and docents, nurseries, home made Pie factory, town itself is an old historical silver mine with many interesting shops and restaurants. Email mail privately for name of RV park. We are also in northern calif. and drive the 1st. day to Seven Feathers RV park/casino in Cannonvile then an easy 4 hr. drive the next day. We always eat in the Sports Bar at the Casino.

October north of you except on the coast can be cold and/or wet. Your best guess is head south east.
