there's a website I'm on that's reported a compressor, brand new in box, a Dish Tailgater that was padlocked and chained to the motorhome, and also a generator out of a truck.

All of these things were chained and padlocked. Someone sure must have slept well, not sure I could sleep through the noise of someone cutting a cable :@

it DOES seem like people are sticking around.

Lots of Wisconsin, Michigan, Wyoming and a couple Texas licenses.

We've been going there for years and have never heard of problems like this. There are 'druggies' everywhere you go.

Quartzsite is right off a major thoroughfare (I-10). That camp spot is on the old hwy, now the frontage road. Any druggy looking for $ to fund their next high could easily stop, steal, sell and get their feel cruising by on the fwy there.

well, we timed it. Drove out to Scadden to the furthest reach that we could hear the freeway (maybe 2 o 3 miles? not sure) and we believe it might just be easier to do Plomosa. The road out to here is much better, and even with being a ways out on Scadden, you could still hear the freeway.

also, it's about the same amount of time. So, we're stickin' with Plomosa. Where people are STILL moving into and this is almost the end of February.

Yeah, that...

Ok, Funny aside... Jeff, are you having FUN yet?
Yeah.. So much that I left the phone inside and missed your call. You up on Plomosa?

Yup... and I had a great time, too! Very friendly camping neighbors 200 yds away introduced themselves. Nothing but good people and happy campers with just the right touch of socializing out this way, as far as I am concerned.

I can see how this could easily be an annual event to go visit.

On another note, I gave up after being seated 1.5 hours at the Grubstake on Monday night, only to find that it would be another 1.5 hours until we would be served our ordered dinner of Fish and chips. No thank you, I am done with them and can not recommend them, not with the complete lack of communication by the waitress. Paid for my rootbeer and left.

I have definitely found it to be a LONNNNG wait during the January rush when everyone is there. We ate there in December, and it was wonderful. it was almost full, but we were waited on quickly. I think they're just overwhelmed when everyone comes in.

FYI I spoke with a neighbor camper this morning and he said that La Posa South with the dump station and potable water is crazy in the morning. That's when folks go there prior to hitting the road. His buddy said he waited over 2 hours. Afternoon is the time to go. So we headed over from La Posa West at 2:35pm. There were 10 RVs waiting to dump. It took only 35 minutes to get my turn. There are 2 stations. We dumped quick, under 5 minutes. Filled potable well water which I used a filter and added 3 ounces of bleach.
We then drove up Centeral thru the town. Stopped at the RV Pit Stop and filled my propane tank. I think it was around $2.50. They filled the tank in no time. Great service and price. I see why everyone has good comments about them.
No one was waiting at their dump stations. I don't know how much it is. If I knew the price to dump, I would have done it there if reasonable like $5-10.
We then headed back to La Posa West and got our same spot.
We noticed a significant increase in visitors at the tent today and Tyson Wells. Guess the weekend crowd is arriving.
Heading out tomorrow for sure.

We just arrived today and are boondocked at the Scadden Wash BLM area.

I made this basic map outline of all the boondocking areas around the Q. This may be of help.

Here's a link about Scaddan Wash:

Scaddan Wash Boondocking

It's a 14-day area. It's south of the interstate and east of Hwy 95. Take the south frontage road as far as you can (about 2 miles). Turn right onto the dirt road and pick your spot along the frontage road or the dirt road. We usually go back on the dirt road a couple miles. There is presently a group of Escapee Boomers parked back there now - about 110 of them of all size rigs. If interested in the Escapees or this subgroup, the Boomers, they would welcome your visit. It's a very low-key friendly group. Their happy hour is at 4pm and they have a 'white board' of daily activities.

Mr Wizard, I believe that's LaPosa north. We had a choice of that or where we are across the street at La Posa west.
Didn't you live in the SFV?
