Trillium Lake Campground, Mount Hood National Forest, Oregon

Good Evening;
DW and I are in need of some help please. Last September we stayed at Oak Fork campground at Timothy Lake. The site we booked, the 5er would not fit in it and we were lucky there was one open we did fit in. This year all the sites but 3 were already booked and I got aced out of the last 3 this morning at opening bell. Trillium Lake Campground just north of Oak Fork campground still has 4 or 5 sites left.
Question ...Does anybody have any knowledge of what the sites are like. We have a 30ft. 5th wheel and I'm not to keen on pulling into a forest service campground 4,000 miles from home out in the middle of nowhere, hoping our rig will fit in to a particular space sight unseen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you sir. Well after more checking and some aerial surveillance, we did secure site 028 for a couple of nights this coming August.

Trillium was a nice campground but last year there was a change in management. Camp host were new and did not do a good job of keeping g things clean. Previous host always racked and cleaned camp sites and clean pavement. New did neither. I got the feeling the host was a homeless person. His campsite was a tent and blue tarp everywhere. You can do a Search on campground photo web site to see each site.

Been there 3 times. Twice with our old AF (27 feet) and once with our Outdoors RV (32 feet.) No trouble at all. Site 21 is awesome! Also stayed in site 28. The place is wicked!

If I lived close enough I'd drive over and check it out for you.

Our 5th wheel is 35' long. Using multiple internet sites to determine if we fit when going into a CG for the first time usually works for us. The photos help and I pick a site based on Google Maps aerial views for backing in purposes. I look for photos with long trailers in them or if just a short one, then I really look at the photo to determine if it will work for us. Last resort, I call the forest service office for that CG and ask them questions.

Another thing we do is to stop first and check in with the host. Every single time we ask them for the best site for our rig, they will escort us to the best site.

We've done pertnear a gazillion searches. Just thought maybe someone on here had actually been there and knew the sites. We'll endeavor To persevere.

Have you looked at campsitephotos.com?? Fair amount of info there and pics of each site, although not perfect they do give an approximation of size. Along with a map of cg (Mt Hood NF site), and the info avail on each site at Recreation.gov, I would think you'd be able to make a choice. Just helping!!

Don't know about site size, but I've been there a couple of times in my truck camper and it's a beautiful campground!

I checked it out on Campendium and it says the max length is 40 ft. The photos show some long sites and all are paved. Here is the link to Trillium Lake on Campendium

Here is a hint, to get that info I highlighted the name of the CG in your post, right clicked it, selected Search Google. And the first hit in the list was this. Try that next time. The reservation site will have individual stats on each campsite. Or use google maps.

agesilaus, Thanks for your time but you know what...I did that. I went thru 1/2 dozen googled sites + the USFS site. But I was asking "Does anyone have any KNOWLEDGE of the sites". You know like has anyone actually been there and seen the sites.
