Trip Report: Ft Lauderdale Trip

Just got back from a quick weekend trip to Ft Lauderdale for a Club event. Since the host hotel was in Dania Beach, FL I wanted to stay somewhere close so I found T.Y Park (Topeekeegee Yugnee Park), a Broward County Park.

The park was nice, the hook ups where pretty new and the pull through sites where paved wide and pretty level. The RV Campground is deep into the park and the drive back is windy on a relatively small road, but the trees where cut high so I didn't have any branches hitting the top or sides of the RV as I navigated the park.

The sites where about $30.00 a night, less if you live in the tri-county area.

Downsides,

There is a commuter train that passes by the RV campground on a regular basis. it moves pretty quick so it is not too disturbing, and it stops running around 9 or 10pm, so no overnight disruptions, but it is there and it is noticeable if you are outside.

The connections for the pull through sites is at or near the rear of the sites. so in my case, I was pulling a trailer and it made water connection too far back for my hose unless I disconnected the trailer and turned it sideways, or moved it to the side so I could park further back into the site. but, I had plenty of water in my tank and didn't need the sewer connection for this 3 day stay. So I only used the electric.

It is a county park, so although you might reserve a particular site, if you arrive after the office closes, you site might be taken by someone that just showed up and paid at the gate.

Overall, a really nice place to send a couple of days, not far from I-95, and plenty to do. I would stay there again when I have the opportunity.

Boy that is sure one nice price for such a great looking CG!

The Broward County parks are great! We usually stay at C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. It's $40 for non-county residents, but it is very quiet and there are no trains. (We have family in Lauderhill). Glad you had a good time.

I looked at CB park, it was a couple of miles further away from the host hotel than I wanted, plus, it was closed for renovations until last week. you couldn't book it until Friday.

We stayed there earlier this year. Our site overlooked the lake along the running trail. I was amazed at the amount of use that park gets. There's a water park on site, tennis courts, an outdoor gym that would compare with any muscle beach park in California and a 4 mile running trail around the park and lake.....nice park...Dennis
