Wisconsin Dells

We'll be travelling with our 13, 11, and 7 year old kids from Michigan to S.Dakota this summer.
En route, we'll stay in the Dells for 2 nights/1 day to visit the water parks. Since the remainder of our trip is state parks, we'd like to stay at a nice FHU campground with lots of amenities while at the Dells, preferably close to the parks. We'd like a level cement slab, pool, kid activities, etc.

Thanks in advance.

The trails that go out the back of the campground d lead to the river! My kids and there friends loved it!from the looks of your pics I would say you found the edge of the river!

No we're back home now. The kids loved the duck tour too.
Have you ever been to the Porkies? We went from the Dells to the Porkies. Had a lakeside site. Beyond beautiful. I posted pictures in the site sticky.

Great, hope you enjoyed it!

No, we`ve only been to Munising MI. in the UP. I`ve heard the Porkies are beautiful.

We made it to Stand Rock. We never found the water but the hiking trail was amazing! We went on a hike both days we were there. Thanks for the suggestion!

Christmas Village is a winter ski resort with a campground in the summer. It is also a very nice place and a bit farther outside of the dells. Not far, about 15 min.

Koa yes close to the tracks, but if you get a full hook up pull thru site they are fine, just make sure those sites are up on the hill. Stand Rock is also a great campground.

I don't care where else you are going, but put an X on Barabo. The circus museum is there and it is a great stop. Even if you don't have youguns along. Even if you are not there on a day that they have a show going. It is not expensive and definitely worth time.

Not too many that I know of have cement slab. We have been to Stand Rock Campground for the last 2 years. This place is now our favorite place in the Dells. 2 miles from Downtown Dells and 4 miles from Wisconsin Dells Parkway that has all the water parks.

The Jellystone has paved sites but it is pricey and the noise from the interstate is kind of on the loud side.

Thank you. I saw the jellystone map and the fhu sites are on the expressway. No thanks.
I also read the reviews for the koa and several people complained about train noise.
I don't mind pricey, especially for just a night or two. But fhu, no fuss, close to water parks and not on expressway sound good. I'll look into stand rock.

I`ve never been to the KOA, but I go by it when in the area. it is very close to the tracks, but I would never consider it noisy. Stand Rock is just down the road about 2 miles or so. It`s a bit farther away from the tracks. You can hear and see the train off in the distance (about a mile) but is a non-issue. It`s the Dells so there is always going to be some type of noise! LOL

And with Stand Rock there are nice trails that lead down to the Wisconsin River at a nice sand bar, very quiet and peaceful way back there.

We also used Wisconsin Dells KOA. None of the CG's in the area will be cheap, but I think the KOA has everything you're looking for except the concrete slab. Enjoy & safe travels.

I agree with dodge guy, go on line and look at what suites your fancy. The closer to the attractions you stay the pricier it's going to be.

Lots of options for sure, I would decide and then reserve, the Dells is a very busy place once it gets warm.

Best thing to do is get a Wisconsin Dells vacation guide or go to wisdells.com and look at it on line. They will have a list of all the campgrounds in and around the Dells area.

If you have any specific questions just ask. We've been to quite a few campgrounds in the Dells. I know the place very well, almost like I live there!
