I'll have to do that. I think I'd enjoy secluded backcountry camping, I know I do when I go backpacking, it'd be great to have my rig sometimes.

We just drive a 3' piece of rebar into the ground, the pole is PVC pipe.

Living in the West makes it easier - there are more boondocking sites to choose from where there's so much public land.

I like that you post a Flag when you camp in our great country that so many people have gave there life so we could enjoy the outdoors in freedom. We just got us a flag for this season. now i just need to decide what way will put it out for our camp spot. This was the first campground we ever stayed in, it was the first of only two.

We took a 10 day trip and spent the first 4 nights at a KOA. It was late in the season and there were only 3-4 other RVs in the park. We stayed here so we could recharge our batteries, refill our fresh waster tanks and dump so we could boondock the next five nights.

It would have made me nervous if the stream would have been deeper than it was, but the wife and I scouted it out in advance, and knew it never got any deeper than our knees, so we knew we would be safe. Now on each side of the trail in the water, it dropped off a few feet in each direction, so crawling across it was.

The way I look at it is if the camper cant keep up with the road conditions, then we need a new camper:B

I love looking at the many places people find to camp. It just makes me want to go explore. So much for everyone saying this country is getting too over populated. It might be in some areas, but there are plenty of places that are wide open and forgotten just begging to be re-discovered.

Thanks Pat, looks like a BLAST!!

I miss towing the trailer with our 4-wd, but I'm sure our trailer will last longer pulling it with a 2-wd.:W:B
