I'm planning on putting plexiglass on the screen door but need to round the top coroners and cut out for the hinges and latch. What's the best way to cut it?

At the campground and do not have my power tools with me. I thought a Dremil or Roto zip would work well.

If you can find a place that sells it they can cut it or point you to someone that can.

I use an oscillating tool. Works great on all sorts of plastics and acrylic.

I used to make deliveries to a place that cut (sheet) acrylic plastic all the time, believe it or not they used table saws with 80 tooth blades on them. After seeing that, that's how I've done it. Using a roto zip or scroll saw can be "tricky". If you don't cut fast enough the blade will generate too much heat, melt the plastic and bog your saw down.

Just my two cents.

I had done one, but when we did the one we have now, I drove the MH over to the glass and window place to measure and get the size right. They measured for the piece, said "wait just a minute" then cut it to shape and installed it for me! Charged me for the lexan sheet. On the first one, I just took a template to the shop, and had them cut it. That way, it it breaks during the cutting, it doesn't cost you. Lowes and HD won't cut curves for you. Window and glass places will.

You score it, then snap it ... like a sheet of glass. To make a rounded edge, you score in straight lines. Each score begins to for a curve. Once you have the basic shape, you sand it or use a grinder on a drill.

A coping saw works quite well for cutting acrylic. Use a fine toothed blade and go slow enough not to melt the plastic. Local hardware store should have one for less than $10.00.

I used RotoZip and it worked really well. Just have to go slow. Recently bought new trailer and have to make the same mod again as the old panels do not fit the new one.

Scroll saw (jigsaw) with a fine blade (10 teeth per inch)

Best to cut with protective paper still on.

Caution: plexiglass melts and can load up other blades
