There is absolutely nothing wrong with a properly installed rubber roof that is inspected periodically. That being said, if you want to replace your roof you can look into the Rhino Lining spray system to cover your roof. Also, search for edatlanta on this forum. He got a spray on product installed on his camper and is VERY happy with the end result. I think he used www.rvroof.com
I think a metal roof will be a nightmare to install and seal properly, will add a lot of weight and incur a lot of cost or man-hours of labor to install. A spray on application is likely going to be cheaper, have a warranty, not require any (or at least only minimal) maintenance and look better.
