Goodyear Endurance

Looking to replace the tires that came on my TT with a set of Goodyears. All the blowout horror stories have me thinking to go ahead and swap now, even though it's only a year old. I should be able to get a few bucks back selling the original rubber on Craigslist.

My question is; do they often run rebate offers? I know they just had one end in July...hate I missed it. Will try to catch a set on the next go-around if one comes up before next Spring.

Thanks

You haven't mentioned your tire size but I would have thought a Load Range E Goodyear Endurance would be a 10 ply as the ST205/75 R14 size I have (the smallest available) is a Load Range D 8 ply tire. :h

Fleeing hurricane Irma, while in Louisiana, I wound up with a blowout. I am very meticulous about my tires, so I can only assume I picked up a nail or something resulting in a loss of air pressure, and thus the blowout. I could try and blame it on their lousy roads... ๐Ÿ™‚
Put the spare on and found a goodyear store somewhere along the way. I got 4 of the endurance tires, and after more than a thousand miles, I can say I am very happy with them. Load range E, which is way more that needed for my trailer, and 8 ply. I immediately noticed better handling, and they weren't as hot as the previous tires, even in 100 plus heat. They were not cheap, and they really don't look like they have a lot of tread depth, but I am happy with them so far.

I don't recall anyone claiming Goodyear Endurance ST tires as "the best tires ever" :R, only that they appear to be a step up from the earlier Marathon and a pretty good bet from what's currently available. Time will tell of course but those of us who have made this choice are betting you won't be so self assured in your unsubstantiated claim. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I now have 6000 miles on my Endurance tires, load range D. All kinds of roads -- from crumbling Calif interstates to Sierra gravel to Idaho's chunky rocks. So far, so good. Never faster than about 63 mph. I am a fanatic about checking tire inflation -- these tires have not lost a pound in a month of traveling.

Time will tell. Still too soon to form an opinion.

Just give it another year, and this and every other RV related forum will be chock full of people who had "blowouts" with the Endurance. Not many on RV boards can admit they were overloaded, clipped a curb, ran over a nail, ran with low pressure, or anything else. It's always a "blowout" and the tires fault LOL.
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

When we went to Colorado at the end of June. We had some old Carlisle tires on my parents 5th wheel that we borrowed. I didn't make it but 3 hours from home before one blew out on the front axle. I got to the nearest tire shop which was a Sam's club. They sold me some Greenball (spell?) tires but only had 2. So I put the two new ones on the front axle and went on my way. We called around to every tire shop whenever we had time to stop and see if we could get 2 more on the back. No one had any. So we were coming back from Colorado thru Nebraska and I blew another Carlisle on the back axle just outside of Sydney. We called around again and couldn't find anyone with the GB tires. So I called my dad to see what he wanted to do. He can't stand mixing tires so we stopped in North Platte at Nebraskaland tire and looked at what they had. They had a cheap off brand Goodyear, the notorious Marathon, and the new Endurance. We went with the Endurance because it was the only one I felt comfortable with leaving the parking lot with. The tech who put our tires on had such a hard on for those tires so I felt better. They look and ride much better than any trailer tire I have ever used. And we also had very minimal balancing that had to be done. I didn't get any rebate but did haggle with them a little on the price. They also took the Greenball tires and put on my spare rim and the other in the back of the truck for free. The spare I had been using was original to the 07 trailer. Right after we got them, Goodyear had a rebate on them. I don't think you will be disappointed with them.

Discount price matched the best price I found online I also checked brick and mortar stores locally and at the time they had $100 card when you bought 4 tires. Also as mentioned above if you used their card they gave you another $60 at that time. Just looked at their site and right now they have a $70 rebate as well as another $30 if you use their card

I bought goodyear endurance tires over the July 4 weekend. Discount tire offered $40 for using there card, $100 for 4 of the "best rating tires" and $60 from Goodyear. Total savings $200.

If your not in a hurry, keep watching for discount tire rebates which usually include a mfg rebate and discount tire rebate.

I replaced a set of Maxxis that had 25K miles on them and were about worn out.

The endurance took very little weight to balance.

we shall see how they work out. Currently the list price on the endurance is less than the Maxxis in the same size that I replaced.

What LTs you get? My TT has a max weight of ~8500#, so I think I should be fine with the Goodyear STs.

I bought two 5th wheels and immediately swapped the ST's for LT's. Cost me $2100 for my current trailer. I say do it, its much better than the hassle of repairing a broken trailer from a blow out.

So far, I have not seen any deals on Endurance but I think sales on ST tires don't come around very often in amy make

Story time!
Good Year cheated me as a young man when I could least afford it. 30 years later I had a flat in front of one of their stores and thought I'd give them another try. Told me my tire was destroyed and I should buy 4 new ones. Took it to another tire store and they just shook their head at my story. Then they fixed the tiny hole for free.
So you can see I'm not a fan of GY but the Endurance seems to be a great tire (came on our AF) and so far the reports about them are good.
If they keep going as they are, I will buy another set when these wear out.
