Roof vent on a motorized dome fan?

My Sandpiper 377FLIK has a Fantastic fan model 7350 in the kitchen. It has a motorized dome lift with rain sensor. has anyone installed a vent cover over this type of fan?
My dealer and Fantastic tech support said to use the Fantastic Ultrabreeze vent cover.
What concerns me is that the motor lifts the dome taller than the vent cover. The dome is going to hit the top of the vent cover before its fully open. I am concerned that it will burn out the motor or the circuit board. Both the dealer and tech support says the lift motor will stop when the dome hits the inside lid of the vent.
They said its ok but to me unless the motor has a pressure switch like a garage door opener I think the motor stops because motor thermal overload opens up which in the long would burn out the thermal overload.

Does any use a vent cover on this type of roof fan?
Thanks

I have one on the bedroom fan and one on the kitchen fan.
Installed by dealer with the Fantastic Fans when we bought our fifth wheel in 2008.
Even put one over the crappy bath fan.
I leave the vents open all year round and no problems.

Can't argue with their specs but my Fan Mate is 11 inches tall.

I checked the spec's on the fan mate, It is 1" shorter than the Ulta Breeze cover
10" verses 11"

I believe the fan circuit board uses a current sense device to detect vent cover stall while both opening and closing.

The new Maxx Air Fan Mate 955 like this is taller and I have no problem with my Fantastic Fan,which BTW the cover is designed to stop when it hits anything. I like the clips, they make it easy to open and clean the vent cover.

I have MaxxFan covers on both of my Fantastic fans and the dealers are correct. The lid stops opening when it touches the lid and it doesn't hurt it a bit. Mine have worked fine that way since 2004 and are still going strong.

Thanks, I just wanted to hear it from people that have actually installed them, Sometimes dealers will tell you anything to make a sale and well we all know how reliable Tech support people can be.

Many of have used covers over our Fantastic Fans for years. They work as your dealer says, lift until they make contact. Many of these have done this for many years without problems.
