What type of sealant is used around clearance lights tail lights etc on RV's? It looks like clear silicone but I'm not sure. Want to make sure I use the right stuff to reseal.

some companies do use clear silicone in areas where leakes are not important and its more just cosmetyic, but don't use that yourself, I use proflex RV, or dicore non levewling sealant for vertical surfaces and dicore self leveling for the roof.   I prefer the Proflex, but it is more expensive.

Whatever you do do not use 100 % silicone. It doesn't stick well and once used even new silicone will not stick to it. I've always used Dicor Lap Sealant. It is available in Clear, White, Black or Tan. Although most RV shops only stock it in white. It has two formulations, sag (self leveling) and Non-Sag (non self leveling so it sticks to walls)
