-- you love the smell of Three in One Oil.

-- you love the smell of WD-40.

-- you canโ€™t decide which one you like better.

-- your day job is behind a desk but your hands are rough, and black crud is always caught under your fingernails.

-- youโ€™d rather be in your workshop than watching TV.

-- when something in your RV needs fixing, you are secretly glad because now you have another project to work on.

-- your stick house is looking a little neglected and out of date but your RV isnโ€™t.

-- you have a torque wrench and you know how to use it.

-- you get excited when you go to the hardware store and discover that the folks at Gorilla have come out with yet another overpriced adhesive product.

-- the only thing better than an RV-related project is an RV-related project that uses scrap materials that you have squirreled away for years, "just in case."

OK, your turn!!

Here's another one.

- You visit RV shows and lots to look at their 'Top of the Line' models with all the options and consider them a 'baseline' or starting point.

- You disparage NADA for not having 'Other' with a box to fill in the value in the Options section

- When selling your RV, you include a separate, bound manual with all the mods and 'Real Instructions'

- You keep aerial shots, maps, and leveling settings for your previous campsites. Bonus points if you arrive at a new CG with these already in hand and estimated!

- You carry SMILEY ( ๐Ÿ™‚ ) stickers with you and mark CG pedestal receptacles after you test and find them up to NASA's standards. You *may* qualify if you know to look for these stickers when choosing a campsite ๐Ÿ˜‰

- Your household budget has a line item entitled "RV Improvements"

...if you are reading these posts AND TAKING NOTES on all the good ideas you picked up from this thread...Yep, you are a modder ๐Ÿ˜› :B

Guilty of every one of the posts especially writing them all down. Over 300 mods on the last Motor Home and only 140 on this one, owned just 3 months... Hey it's my hobby to keep me out trouble, until she finds out I changed it...

And "modder" is a word I made up to describe myself -- it means "someone who compulsively modifies his or her RV."

:W Ummmmmmmm pretty sure you didn't just "make up" that word.

Also pretty sure it isn't specific to RV's.

That phrase has been around for at least over 30 years, pertaining to everything from people who modify their cars/trucks, computers, RV's, etc. etc.

but anyway..............

You might be a modder if---

- You order parts and stash them in the camper for the next trip
- You take power tools camping
- You keep a putty knife and square drive bit in the camper
- You keep a notebook in the camper with sections labeled:
- Wiring updates
- Plumbing improvements
- Cargo loading diagram
- Scale weights, broken down by axle and individual wheels
- mAh by device

- You keep a spreadsheet with Ah usage, listed by camping destination and date

- You come back from RV dealers with a "parts" catalog. *Super Modders* have the 2-inch version!

- You've memorized the position and amperage of each breaker and fuse in your convertor/charger

- You have a "best time" for setup and take downs. Bonus points if you also have a "tandem" rating ๐Ÿ˜‰

You buy things on ebay from china thinking "I might find a place to use this."
Actually happy when DW complains about something that can be fixed with a MOD!
Start counting your mods.
