2015 keystone 311 impact with 2012 4x4 crew cab Durmax

Where going to pull the trigger on 2015 311 impact Tow Hauler tomorrow 11.656 dry weight . Ill look over the tires and axles tomorrow. I have 2012 Durmax 4x4 crew cab . I be-leave the 3/4 ton Durmax will be fine with the impact. I have never towed with the Durmax any body with experience towing this weight trailer with Durmax are welcome to share there experience. Thank you

Sounds right to me. You were fully loaded and barely over the rear axle. Have fun and safe travels

I loaded my 311 with 110 gallons of water,70 gallons fuel. Harley and every thing I need for a week of camping in the high mountains of NM. On my way I stopped at Petrol cat scales, Steering axle 4840 lb, Driver Axle 6220, trailer axle 10660. gross weight 21720. I'm looking at my door sticker from my I 5 phone picture. GAWRR 10000, GVWR FRT is 5200 LB, Drivers Axle GAWR RR 6200, My manual is telling me my GVW is 24000 LBs. If I am getting this right the truck is over loaded by 20 LBs fully loaded GAWR RR with the my 2015 311 keystone toy hauler.

I put 2800 lbs in the trailer and it lowered my hitch weight around 400 lbs I'm counting 2 passenger and 36 gallons of diesel . I need to weight the truck trailer empty to find what my GAWR RR is.

Strange how the trailer actually weighed less after you added everything to it. I guess it would be hard to overload the trailer if it transfers a lot of it's weight to the truck when hitched?

Sweet we picked it up last Wednesday and boon docking at the city of rocks state park NM then went to Rock hound state park n m and wet camp we put around 300 miles on the Harley and loaded up and left the Impact at the dealer yesterday with minor adjustment. I can say one thing about my lml LTZ sure Isn't under powered. I averaged 12 mpg pulling in the mountains. I'm looking at Firestone air bags on amazon probably a thread here some where.

The hitch is 2790 empty, when I loaded the Harley and trailer full I was 20 lbs over on the truck GVW RR. The hitch weight on my 311 36 ft toy hauler is 24,3 % of the Impacts weight, I guess the Duramax is over loaded with a empty trailer.I will never travel with over 1/2 full of water again. I'm trying to stay in the limit of the weight police and it will be several more weights before I get it right.

no weight police here..I was curious as to what his pin weight is loaded up as I am picking up a hauler tomorrow and wanted to see if my estimates were right (for my own rig).

Dry weight I bet right off the line.I bet I can find the answer off the Duramax forums.

Was the 7200 truck weight from the scale or according to truck specs? For example my 3500 srw weighs 8700 with me and fuel in it....brochure said 8000 or so...only way to know for sure is to weigh it.

The truck weighs 7200 lbs. GVWR is 10000 LBs. 5200 GAWR FRT.GVWR. RR GAWR 6200 LBS. I Don't understand there figure, I'm looking at it cell picture from the door panel for my Duramax. Thank you.

sounds like you are good to go IMO..any idea what your weights were for just the truck itself (trying to see what your actual pin weight was). Congrats on the new rig and safe travels!

I just got back from a 5 day trip with my new 2015 311 Impact weighing 11500 empty. I filled the fresh water full 110 gallons , 30 gal of fuel for the toys , Harley around 900 running weight and every thing we need for the high elevation in N M. I stopped at Petro and topped off with Diesel an weighed on the cat scale. Steering axle 4840 LB. Driver Axle 6220 and the Trailer axle 106660 LB. Gross weight 21720. The door sticker on my 2012 2500 Z71 4X4 cc Standard bed. Front 5200 Lbs, cat 4840. GWVR 6200 LB, cat weight on the RR was 6220 . It looks like the truck is 20 lb over on the rear. Gross weight was 21700. Every thing I read the GVW for my truck is 24000 LBS.

That's what I was thinking too. I was also thinking, that if you have a truck maxed out...or close to it,..wouldn't you expect it to sit on the overload springs? Seems to me, that too many people think that just because you're on the overload springs, that you're "overloaded." I don't know,...just my observations.
