I think you're going to be hating life after a few days. I owned a 2010 F150 5.4 and 3.73 gears. Problem with that tranny is there's no way to lock out OD. It will hunt and shift all day long. Payload will be a concern.
Mine was 1857 with the Max Tow option. Most are in the 1500 lbs range.
I would seriously rethink you're agenda with that combo.

LOL... It's easy to lock out the OD. It's as easy as pushing a button.

Glancing at the itinerary, no time in MI upper peninsula? One of the most beautiful areas in the country. Also, while in Mackinaw, take a trip over to mackinac island. Lots to see in Traverse city, and west on the Leelanau peninsula.

What are your plans in Detroit?

How heavy is the trailer? The best modifications you could add to the truck would probably be things like airbags/Timbrens, higher rated wheels and tires, and a larger trans cooler. Certainly how you load the trailer could have a big impact. The rule of thumb on this site tends to be to assume you're at max GVWR on the tires, which may be accurate or it may be kind of stupid depending on the particular situation.

I'm not sure there's a flat route from NB to BC - there's this thing called the Rocky Mountains in between them. Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada and Idaho all have an average elevation of 5000' or higher.

Thank you guys. All the responds are quality and helpful. Just start planning, Wyoming/Montana have lots of mountains? Haven't do reseach about that yet, never been there :? If that's the case, we may give up Yellowstone. What's the best flat route from NB to BC? Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome! Since the truck has bought, we have no plan and no money to get a bigger one. We have to find a way to make it happen since we need to settle down in BC at the end of the trip. Change transmission oil, get a transmission cooler, slow down, take less stuff with us...what else can we do?

Depending on options that truck has a maximum payload of 1,680 lbs and maximum towing of 11,300 lbs. Your camper is at 1,898 lbs pin weight and 12,058 gross weight.

Not even considering passengers, stuff in the truck bed and fuel, You are 218 lbs over payload and 758 lbs over tow capacity. To be honest, I hope you make the trip without and accident under these conditions.

Thanks, goducks10 & Edd505. Appreciate your advice very much. We know it will be much better to get a F250, but we decided to choose the F150 Long bed instead. We had used them for 5000km RV trip last year. It is not perfect, but workable. We only drive 3-5 hours every day or less than that and stay away from mountains when we plan the trip. Hope it is goint to be ok.

You asked for advise and opinions and you got two quality responses. Have fun on your trip and good luck.
