5th wheel and tonneau cover

Am pondering buying our first 5th wheel.

A concern is whether or not I would have to remove my "BakFlip G2" tonneau cover to accommodate the 5th wheel hitch in the 6' p/u bed. The BakFlip has 4 approx 18" sections that fold back on themselves and the last section nearest the truck folds up against the back window and anchors with a bracket on each side.

Wondering if others have kept their folding tonneau cover on their trucks by folding it out of the way successfully or if they just removed it because it was a hassle. I want to have my cover when we are camped and doing our day trips to be able to store stuff safely and out of the weather.

I ran a 4-section fold back on a long bed for years (until son of mine who shall remain nameless dumped some concrete blocks on it off of a fork lift) and ran with two sections extended while towing.

It was easier to see the hitch with all three of the rear sections stacked at the front of the bed, but there was never any problem once I was hooked up.

I now have a Pace Edwards retractable cover which my son gave me as a Christmas present. I don't know what made him think of such a nice present.

I have used the hard folding panels with the 5th wheel and it worked great. Everything folded up just behind the truck rear window and snapped in place. I also have a tool box in this area as well...

This is called the FOLD-A-COVER G4 ELITE

I too like to cover my entire truck bed when unhooked from the trailer...

All locks down for me with my setup... Pretty good weather seal wise as well...

You can get pretty fancy with a fifth wheel setup with additional tool boxes etc as long as they all do not extend up above the bed rails like this google image shows...

Mine is a roll up too. It works great for me! The only problem I could see, is if your hitch handle pointed upwards too far for the cover, when closed. It depends on the hitch, my handle is fine.

I have a roll up tonneau but yours should be the same, the cover is at or near the bed rail and the top of the hitch will sit below the rail. At least mine does.
