5th wheel insurence

I know this topic has mentioned before but I would like to get some of your opinions. Our 5th wheel is now 8 years old and we just got our yearly ins bill. This year it jumpe $85 more. We called our co but the person who handles it is off today. Just a thought should't it decrease with age. Personally I think what we pay is way to high $785 for 2016. Yes we do still owe on the 5th. Any helpful answers would be appreciated. Thank you and Happy holidays to you all.

Just remember full time insurance is much different. One does not have a homeowner's policy and you need some sort of liability insurance and replacement insurance if you are full time. If you are not a full timer, I would do as other suggest and shop around.

Trailer will need collision and comprehensive. If one hits something while moving with the trailer the damage will fall under the collision. That was just discussed here recently and I also had an incident with a tree limb while traveling on a street.

Make certain that it insured as a trailer and not a motor vehicle. In other wards your truck has the liability and collision not the trailer.

Best price I found while getting quotes in August this year was from AARP/Hartford. They rolled it into the tow vehicle policy for an additional $18 per year. 250k/500k including comprehensive and collision deductible of $500

i pay around 115$ for declared value of $12k on a 03 fiver. Liability is on the truck and home insurance. Ask yourself this. If it's destroyed can you replace it for the $85 your premimum went up? Check if you can get liability thru you tv, and check what you pay for collision. Thats the most expensive part of it. Maybe you can save a bunch there. I dropped mine way down to better reflect the true value of the rig, They won't pay you more than it's worth if destroyed, even if you owe a lot.

Ours jumped 85 dollars also this year. When I called, I was told that our insurance company ( SAFCO ) added a mandatory coverage for full time use during the summer at a campground. We store ours beside the house but haven't shopped it yet.

We pay a few hundred less than that a year for our 07 Everest .....We have full timers insurance with a very large agreed upon value, and personal belongings coverage. We have Progressive. Our deductibles are at $250 for zero deductible glass, comp and collision and includes Mexico coverage.

Might be beneficial to shop around.

I don't think I pay more than $350 a year for our 16 Mobile Suites. It is based on a determined value and is a RYDER on the truck policy. VERY CHEAP. I use farmers Ins.

I think that age does not matter. Look at auto insurance. It never goes down as the vehicle gets older.
