I have motorhomed for years with 100 gal diesel tank. Now have 5er with Ford F-350 diesel with 20 gal tank. Miss the old duel tanks on fords of yesteryear. What have you all done to get more than 200 miles between stops? 5 gal cans in bed? Messy. Looking at 50-75 gal transfer tank in pick up bed but can’t find one short enough that tonneau cover will cover. Any ideas?

This one works for me.

Problem is it says 60 gallons, however the most I have ever been able to put in it is 53.5 gallons. This with the stock tank gets me about 80 gallons.
I've been to all 50 States but my RV hasn't.

my 2016 F350 is a 26 gallon tank, which isn't much when towing a 18K fifth wheel toyhauler, the most I put in the tank is 23.5 gallons and the fuel gauge was reading empty, I would like to replace the factory tank with a large one, so I will be watching this thread. :C

Not buying it's 20gal...our 2008 is 26 gal.

But it's fairly straight forward. Fill up often, get some 5 gal jugs, or buy an in bed tank to add 30-60 gal.

Contact a company Transfer Flow in Chico ca. They have installed 3 different aux diesel tanks on 3 of my trucks over the years. Never had one problem. Currently, I have a 60 gal. diesel tank which is located where the original Dodge tank was located. They can usually install the tank in 1 day. Chico is 100 miles north of Sacramento. I think TRANSFER FLOW will ship a tank to your location where your local shop can install it. I can travel approx. 1000K miles on 1 tank. They also calibrate your current fuel gauge to read the auxiliary tank. Nothing worse than being low on diesel in area of the country you are not familiar with and then trying to find a diesel station. Personally, I would not have a truck without a larger tank. They also design tanks to be located in the back of your truck bed.

https://www.transferflow.com/ Ck out Transferflow tanks great product. On my 2017 F350 it sits level with top bed rail. Mine is a 50 gal/ toolbox combo. Quality build and the best part it is 100% USA made and sourced.

This is just a curiosity question... do you have a SRW shortbed? My 2012 F350 has a 37 gallon tank.

The 26 gallon tank is a definite PITA. There are some underbed options, if a bit pricey. I carried a 35 gallon aux tank on the Alaska trip, but really didn’t need it.

It is bad, but may not be that bad. I'm thinking you have a 26 gal tank.

Some one else may have an idea for adding capacity.
