Anyone added patio rails to ramp?

Our raptor doesn't have the patio option, but the price of the camper was so good I couldn't turn it down. I'm wondering if anyone has added an aftermarket system too there ramp and how you like plus was the install difficult? I see a few sets of take off railings that were removed from owners that didn't want them, been thinking about ordering one but would like to hear from the owners that have and use them if there worth it or just more trouble to worry about. We will be towing a Harley while camping so the ramp will be used for what its intended for as well as a patio.
Thanks

We have the patio option on our Road Warrior and have used it 1 time on the first trip. It's been in storage ever since. IMO, it's more trouble than it's worth because of loading and unloading the mule we haul.

If worried about the strength of the ramp support the middle with a 4 by running from side to side, sitting on jack stands.

I'm not sure how it works but even on the Keystone Rv forums they say you should have the reinforced door, looks like for us at least it's not a big enough deal to worry about adding anything to the ramp. Now we know.

Don't shoot the messenger dude, just what is out there. The manufacturers have stated it has different bracing. It's probably to do more with torque of the door when it flat and people walking around versus straight up and down the ramp. Two different uses of the ramp.

I think I worded my comment wrong, I was saying you are correct and the patio option is a completely different door so the non-patio door shouldn't be used. They talk about it a lot on the Keystone site and people that have tried have damaged there doors in the middle. I guess trying to load a heavy bike using the middle of the ramp also can cause damage? Never would have thought but I suppose, either way we don't need the patio that much to chance risking damaging the door.

I have heard some manufacturers, not sure if Raptor is one of them, have different doors for the "patio" option door. The standard door will handle the loading and unloading of toys in the garage, while the patio door has additional bracing in it.

This does not make sense to me, just what I was told.

I guess it's possible but I have to ask, was the dealer trying to get you to buy the more expensive trailer with the patio setup already installed?

+1 on what Halmfamily said. The way they're installed on our TH, I don't see why something similar couldn't be done with any rig. Check with the manufacturer. I know I've seen Raptor's with the playpen installed.

I would call the mfg and see what they charge for a set plus mounting hardware. Ours has two mounts on each side and two clips the middle to hold them in place when there up. Should be a quick and easy install.
