Great history. It was founded so early compared to every place else in the PNW due to the fur trade. You better like rain.

Astoria, OR has a couple things to see.
Astoria Column and Maritime Museum
Outside of Astoria is several places,
Fort Clatsop, where Lewis and Clark spent winter
Seaside is home or Lewis and Clark's salt cairn
Fort Stevens, old fort only place in continental US shelled by Japanese during WWII, Old fort has great historical sites.

Fort Stevens is a great Oregon State park, with miles of walking/biking trails. Columbia River Maritime Museum / USCG Museum is a must. The Astoria Column is a tower and should be your list. South jetty at the mouth of the mighty Columbia River, which you can drive to or bike to from Fort Stevens.
