Has anyone used the B&W Companion hitch installed with a Bed Rug. It looks like it would just compress the foam and be fine but would like real world opinions

I must not be fully awake yet. I read the title as Bed Bugs and B&W Hitch. I wondered what the two had in common....

Time for some caffeine.

I think a BedRug is a no go under a B&W. Call them and ask. Your paperwork for the hitch states what the maximum thickness is allowed. Had a BedRug in my 2500 prior to getting my 3500DRW. My plan was to cut out a rectangle where the hitch was going to sit and attach more of the velcro strips so I could stick it back down when the hitch came out. Those above that are posting about bed mats. The BeRug is softer and compresses more than a mat.

I use a bed mat under my RVK 3600 B&W, cut out the 4 holes for the puck openings so material would clear the opening with a little to spare, works great. Makes for a really neat install look.

Solid rubber mat no issues but if it is soft and would allow compression that would be a no go. Pic above is a 18K the newer 20K Companion has a different base that has filler pcs to drop down into the low part of the beds corrugation.

I used a bed mat under the B&W for many thousands of miles with my last truck.

The current truck has the 5er option so didn't feel that 4 more holes in the same mat for the new base would be a good idea plus there wasn't enough adjustment on the cam bolts.

Best to give B&W a call. A real person will answer, and answer your question too. IIRC they advise against doing this.
