We are in the process of looking at new 5er's to replace our 12 year old McKenzie Lakota. At the top of our current list is the Crossroads Cruiser Patriot 305SK
Would like to hear from any Crossroads owners about their rigs and any issues they have had as well as the positives and how Crossroads customer service has been.
We just got back from visiting the closest dealer to us(5hr drive)and checking out the 3 Cruisers they had. The quality and build seemed to be good, but it's hard to tell by just looking.

I fixed my entry door light switch by screwing a long screw on the inside of the door, just over the on side of the switch. Then adjust the screw so that when you tap the door the lights come on.

We purchased one in March and used it on one 10 day trip. Found four minor issues that were fixed under warranty. However when we got it back we had slide problems and it is now back in the shop. Our dealer is only 30 minutes away, thank goodness

We like that it is only 33' long, we don't want to haul anything longer than that. We like that you can access the kitchen and dining area with the slides in, we do frequently have lunch on the road that way.

We did not realize that the main slide won't close with the recliners in the normal position. you have to drag one to the open area, or lay it on its side. We also pull one recliner over by the sofa for TV viewing.

There is no fan vent in the bedroom, just a vent. I will be adding a TurboMaxx fan there. The two windows at the head of the bed make for great cross ventilation.

berniross, thanks for the info. We also like the 33' length of the 305 as we mostly camp in the California State Parks and National Parks.

Good to hear that you have access to the kitchen and dining areas, we also stop and have lunch while on the road.

I had read on the Crossroads forum about the recliner problem and had hoped that they had corrected that somehow, I guess it's not that much of a problem.

We have a 2011 315RE Patriot and it is by far the best made RV I've ever owned. Can't say anything about Crossroads service because I've had zero issues, knock on wood! Go for it.

Wife and I absolutly love our 2012 CF27RLX Cruiser. Our switch door was missing when we bought it, CW got us a new one, but I never have installed it, Also kinda think it's silly to have the main light switch behind a cabinet door. So far the only problem we have had is the black tank valve stuck open on us, replaced it ourselves. Tows like a dream with our old 250. Was a big step up quality wise from our springdale. The only thing I wish it had that I will soon be adding is small led type lights in the interior stairs. It is pitch black in the coach at night, and I have missed the stairs getting a drink o water in the middle of the night (next weeks project!). Good luck with your decision.

We have night lights in the bedroom and kitchen. No problem seeing at night.

This cruiser is the first RV I've ever had that didn't have a light switch on the wall beside the door. I have more than casually mentioned it to the factory but to no avail. I'm looking at one of those surface mount electrical boxes and put it under the switch box right above the counter. But in reality after a few times using the interior light switch you know where it is and albeit inconvenient not a big deal.

Have a 2011 305 Patriot SK. Love the floor plan (great kitchen set up)Have only had minor issues, able to remedy myself. Do a through PDI all of the RV manufacturers have some issues with their products. I feel you get a decent value at the Cruiser price point. Opt for double pane windows if you can. Best of luck

mark5w, we solved the switch access by removing the cabinet door. It only looks goofy till you start using the switches, then it looks lovely. ๐Ÿ™‚

OP, our Cruiser is 10 years old. It has held up well. It's not an Airstream, but it's pretty well built. We toured the factory last year. They are assembled the same way all the other brands are. But their engineering and materials seem to be somewhat better than average. We would strongly consider another one if we were in the market.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Purchased a Crossroads Patriot 335SS at the Hershey RV show. Had it out twice this spring and only found a few broken screws under the molding of the bed slide. A few LED lights on the awning were burned out. The dealer got a new one for us in a week. That is the extent of of problems. Cons are the light switches behind the cabinet at door. You must open the cabinet to turn on overhead lights. Other complaint is the mattress is a little hard for my taste. Ordering a 3 inch foam topper to solve that. Pros: everything else.
My wife and I both love the features on ours and found the build to be great. Others, most who don't have a later model cruiser, will say that the build of the new ones don't compare to a few years ago. I found that people will complain more then praise, but that's there right.

By the way. We traded in our old Mckenzie for the Cruiser. That McKenzie was one of the worst rvs i ever owned, leaked like a sieve. I hope you had better luck. Any questions pm me.

Good luck on your future purchase. ๐Ÿ™‚
