Looking at getting a Curt Q25 hitch for a Ford with bed prep. For those with a Curt hitch, how do you like them?

Huh??? The handle is NOT high. Not sure you are talking about a B&W.

Ask the same question about the B&W.

Don't have too. Already have a B&W and looking at a Curt for my new truck.

Cost the reason? If u already have a B&W you know how easily they hitch n unhitched.

B&W rated at 20K, next RV might be heavier than that. Curt SAE certified, B&W says nothing in their literature that they are.

Like I said compare them side by side. Two bolts holding head on each side with Curt n four on each side of the B&W. B&W rates to the lowest component.

A call to B&W to se how they rate may be in order.

I would use a 20k B&W before a 25k Curt any day to tow my 23k RV.

I have the 16K Curt w/ slider, and I will likely change it.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it, at all, and it hitches solid the first time, every time.

The trailer just weighs more than advertised, and I want to get an airride hitch in the bed. I don't need the slider, it was a waste.

There are certainly great hitches out there besides B&W ,have had Reese hitches that have served me well. I am sure Curt will do the same. No need for a B&W .

OP I'll repost your question.
Looks like another hijack by the usual same culprits from the B&W crowd with a slick lead in by one owner and the others jumping in the hijack.

I don't have a Curt hitch however I see the Q20 and Q25 are prefered by haulers over other rv brand hitches on a couple of commercial forums I frequent.

Might also check on other rv websites with your Curt hitch question.

I like it once it's hooked up, very solid hitch. My only complaint is it can be difficult to get it locked in on my unlevel driveway. Make sure you keep it well greased.

I highly advise comparing to the B&W puck hitch. Yes the Curt is known for being difficult. They are Made in China if that matters.

I've never had a problem with my q16.
Latches every time, easily. Straight on or at a slight angle.

With the actual owner responses so far makes me think I'll mark this brand off my list when I eventually get a different TV and hitch.

Never experienced any of those issues with my current hitch (Valley).

I have the Q20 and like others has said it can be a pain to get latched in. At least until I figured out how. It seems the hitch likes the pin to be exactly centered to latch. That's very hard to do as it's usually slightly off one way or the other. My solution is the back into the pin until it partially latches and the pinbox is fully over the hitch, just not completely latched. Then I use the landing gear to lower the trailer until the weight comes off the landing gear. That allows the hitch and pin to square up. I then raise the trailer and the hitch will latch every time. Obviously the trailer has chocks behind the tires so it can't roll backwards during the time I am raising and lowering the trailer.
