Cyclone Toy hauler pulled by a Ford F-250 crew cab.

Guy pulls in to the camp ground a couple days ago spewing fluid from underneath the pickup. Manages to get the rig in a site after leaving a trail all over the place.

He is pulling a Cyclone fifth wheel Toy hauler loaded with a small car that likely weighs around 2000 pounds. He also has a lot of patio gear such as full-size gas grill and furniture adding and he likely has another 1000-1500 pounds of stuff in the rig in gear and stuff including the patio gear. He also has the full patio kit for the rear lift gate.

Pulling it with a crew cab F-250 4X2 dually.

I checked some basic numbers and the rig itself weighs around 14400 pounds without the car and gear.

According to one guide I found the pickup is only capable of towing 12500 pounds.

I saw them pulling it up on a roll-on wrecker today and spoke with the guy. He said he blew the front main transmission seal.

Would you all think the pickup is overloaded hence why the front main seal on the automatic transmission gave up the ghost?

An F350 DRW with Deisel can tow 5th wheel 26,000 lbs, maybe more depending on year and rear axle ratio..

And were did this information come from. I cannot find an F350 near that except for maybe a 2015.

The data sheet I looked at did not note what you mention. Thank you for the information.

Come to think of it, if the rig weighs in at 14400 pounds dry and you add the car at 1600 pounds then that in itself is 16000. Then you add at least another thousand pounds in gear, stuff, fluids, dishes, pots, pans, grill, etc and she is now at 17000... round it down to 17K and he is still 2000 pounds overweight for the truck which might have been what caused the tranny seal to go.

Sorry about the initial confusion

One of my neighbors pulls his toy hauler with his f-150. I haven't seen him put a car in it, but he hauls his atvs. As far as the seal. Maybe it was just bad.

After he mentioned about dragging that huge rig around I remember telling the guy he might need a "450" and he told me "No way!"

CARP... Did I keep saying 250? I MEANT 350! My bad... OK... Weight rating is 15K pounds. With the rig dry weight at 144000 and the car and the gear he is still overweight. My bad. Wonder then why she blew the tranny seal!

An F250 dually? I am not a huge weight police type of person but I do agree there are limits and common sense. He seems to be violating both.

I think your numbers may be wrong - were you looking at numbers for an F250? You mentioned he had a F250 dually. I could be wrong but I've never seen an F250 with dual wheels - kind of defeats the purpose of having DRW if it's only a 3/4 ton truck.

Oh, when I mentioned he might need a bigger truck after he said "I have to pull that big beast around" he said NO WAY! Big enough!
