Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

m go blue,

Glad you had a good outing. I find that the floor remains cold and the chair by the table by the door is the coldest place to sit. We're considering getting skirting as $$ allows.

eaherrmann,

They sent a new couch?? Crazy! Anyway, glad you got your baby back home. Now let's hope yours and ours are the only ones on this link to sustain that damage!

Yogi154,

If you hate being hot, you'd better get the second AC. Whatever floor plan feels better to you both is the one. The incidentals -- the TV and counter space are after-purchase adaptable. I mean, you can change out the TV, add a portable counter space, etc. Don't sweat the small stuff! Maybe the dealer would assist in some adaptions before sale?

Took our Designer out his past weekend for the first time this year...highs were in low 40's F and lows were about 30F degrees and had no hookups...the insulation factor of it was even better than I thought with the dual pane windows...used the generator when needed and used the electric fireplace and a portable cube heater to supplement the RV furnace; also used the TV and convec oven at the same time and generator did great...at night we turned the Rv furnace down to about 60F and hardly came on (and only relied on battery power at night)...good first time out and was glad to get th first trip over with...next trip will be to fill the water tank and check the lines (weather depending)

Hey All, We finally got our trailer back. We were definitely worried about the service we'd get from the dealer since we didn't buy from them. I will tell EVERYONE that Triangle RV in Fredrick MD does it right! Can't tell where we banged it up and everything works perfectly. Another note, they performed all of our warranty repairs as well. We had a small tear in a couch cushion and Jayco sends a whole new couch. Thatโ€™s service. All in all,,,,very satisfied...:B

Help We are looking at two Jayco Designers #1 is an 08 36ft RLTS I like it. Dual air's $ 65,000 pretty loaded. I like the open space but a small 32in TV. I like the split bathroom and two sinks. Little short on counter space , but we cook out.
The 09 is a 35ft RLTS the wife likes this one too. I don't like the Tub and the bathroom in general No Window. Plus you loose an upright chest. Part time fully timing (winter time) 42in TV Nice.
OK do we need two A/C's I hate being hot!! I like all the water service in one compartment, the 08 doesn't have it.
Price differance $ 15 bucks. Seams weird to me the list is with-in about $ 240 .
Looking for the Pro's and Con's of these Models
Well let me add this the prices are list. I would be trading in a Cardinal 05 and I'm looking at either unit at about $ 31K and my unit. I like both units We toured the factory last month. They have true Amish workers not like some of the other brands that say they do. I liked the workman ship the quality is there, a family bussiness. I thought that two A/C's is a must. I noticed the LED light's on the 09 too. Wife is a quilter so we will be bringing a table for the stuff. That's why the large floor plan or open floor plan.
I moved my post to your Jayco site

Thanks for your input.

yeah, I can trim the sides that overhang the base to accomodate a 60x80 queen. As for the length, you may be right on that, but thats ok. I wont cut anything until i have the new mattress in place for measurement.

I'm not sure your bed will end up being that short. Are you going to cut the excess wood off the base?

I am going to have to replace the mattress on our bed. It is absolutely miserable to sleep in. I am going back with a standard, spring mattress with a pillowtop. Also, going to change size from a king to a queen. That way, we will be able to walk around the side of the bed to make it up!! I also should be able to disable the mechanism that makes the bed rise up with the slide. No need for that if the bed is shorter, I hope?

If you look at the very front of mine you can see where the dryer vent is located.

Thanks to all for your information on my questions. I have been lurking around here for a few months reading up on all of the issues with the 35 RLTS. I have to say, so far our problems have only been very minor ones. We had some windows leaking the very day after we took delivery. I am working in Georgia nad we bought from a dealer in Ashland, Ky. Of coarse there is not a dealer close by so I called Jayco. They told me to check the drains on the windows as they sometimes have excess sealant plug the holes. Sure enough. Next we had a small water leak under the kitchen sink and one behind the toilet. 1/4 turn of the fittings and that was fixed. We replaced the vents as suggested on here. That was a huge difference....thanks for that one. Our shower hose broke while DW was bathing the dog. What a mess. trip to Lowes to get a better quality hose and that was fixed. Other than that, we have not had any other issues. I sure wish we had ordered it with Fan in kitchen and washer dryer, but I am doing those myself. Maybe sometime soon I can post a few pics.
Thanks again........

I almost forgot my second question. We did not get the fantastic fan in the kitchen ( bad move ) I am going to add a remote controlled Maxx fan. I have already checked and there is some wiring up there. Does anyone know if it is hot or do I need to connect it somewhere and is it switched?
Thanks again,

If you are looking at the vent there in the kitchen area, then yes those wires are for a fan. They are 12v and they are probably already hot. Check the main fuse panel and remove the associated fuse before installing.

As for yous washer/dryer, the reason I did not install this one myself is because of the location of it. That thing is heavy and it will not be easy getting it in place. I let my dealer do it so if there was a scratch on the wood, etc, it was on them and not me!

It is the first issue with the valve. Looking at the valve, it looks pretty simple, so don't know what went wrong.

Have you had any problems with water pressure when hooked to city water? Like good pressure at hose, but not inside? Have had it where we couldn't run a pressure reducing valve even though good pressure with it installed at hose end, but not much pressure inside. Changed valves, but no difference.

Great service, I too feel that I would get that kind of service from my selling dealer. I have a phantom issue with my mixing valve, but I can deal with it. One time I had hot water come out from the cold water tap. I think we had a pressure surge, then after the surge the supply dropped. With much more pressure in the water heater it popped the mixing valve the other direction and gave me hot for a short period. That can really make you think you're crazy when you can't replicate it 2 seconds later.

Is this the first issue you've had with it you mixing valve?

We are set-up in the outskirts of Asheville, NC for a period of time now. After setting up last week, we noticed that the hot water was coming out as warm water not hot. Could take a shower with only hot water turned on, no cold. Called our selling dealer in Knoxville, TN and talked to service department who said it was probably the mixing valve as they had saw this problem before. I called Jayco to get approved to use a mobile tech, but customer service said it would be a day or 2 before anyone could call me back unless it was an emergency. Called our dealer back, and the owner said he would send a replacement valve next day delivery, for me to call a mobile tech, and send him the bill. Valve arrived next day, had tech install, and have "hot" water again. Jayco did call back the next day, and approved a mobile tech too.

I want to give a thanks to Campers Corner in Knoxville, TN for their outstanding customer service in my opinion. The owner Buzz and service manager Darren were able to take care of our problem in short order, and 1 1/2 years after the sale. If anyone is in the area and needs some service, I highly reccommend them. And not a bad place to buy a camper either.
