Flat Screen TV install question

As many of you know we have a 2008 FSC2800 weekend Warrior. I want to replace the analog TV with a new LED Flat screen unit. My TH uses a sidewall cabinet with a Lazy Susan style shelf to turn the TV to face the rear of the trailer for viewing. Currently it has a 19” TV installed on this shelf. I want to remove the Lazy Susan shelf and use a swing arm mount for the flat screen.

My question is simple, has anyone else done this in a similar cabinet set-up? How and where did you mount the swing arm and how large a TV were you able to fit in the space. Finally, how do you store the TV for travel (how is it positioned)? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I know this has been discussed here before but I did check the archives without much success. Most were for MH or units that had central mounting cabinets.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Hap

There was post from someone here who used small pieces of 2x4 and 2x6 inside the TV cabinet to connect a bracket then painted them black. Looks like a goof set up. The flat screen is actually against the exterior of the cabinet opening when set back but with the bracket he installed you can pulled out, turn and tilt the flat screen'

I have the pictures saved on my puter and I can't remember how to post them here.

I have a fsw3200, had exactly the same tv turntable set up.

Bought a Samsung 32" and a extendable wall bracket at costco when I was waiting for my TH to have its frame upgrade done at RV Doctor in Lake Elsinore.

When Jim at RV Doctor saw the bracket & TV in the box, he said they can do a nice setup for me. I said I can do it, just going to remove the turntable box and mount the wall bracket to the wall behind and in the box. Then extend the bracket when watching tv. Jim said bracket wont be long enough to angle the tv correctly for good viewing. And its hard to find a sturdy place to mount bracket in back of box. He said let them do it, you'll be happy with it.I said ok, sure.

RV Doctor did a real nice setup. They've got some incredible skilled woodworkers. They used the exact same wood and trim that is in my th. It looks factory. Actually better than factory. Looked like a skilled cabinet makers work. He built a beautiful wood partition in the box, fully trimmed out, to mount the bracket to. The wood partition was sturdy like a factory cabinet, with nice angle curves to match the cabinets perfectly. Had plenty of room to get behind the partition to keep a dvd player, inverter, and other electronics. I was stunned how nice it came out. Everyone that sees it thinks its factory and really sweet. Wish I had a pic of it. I'm in Fl now and TH is stored in PHX for the off season.

Might call Jim at RV Doctor and ask him for a price and maybe a picture of their setup... it is the nicest I've seen for the WW turntable to flat screen conversion. Worth a look anyhow.

Hap Hazard,

I have done exactly what you are looking to do on my Weekend Warrior LE3305 5th wheel. The cabinets are exactly the same as on your tow behind. I will get pictures and the details on what I did including the mount, LCD TV and how I stow it when moving. Its been in place for a couple of years now with no issues at all.

I brought a mount from Amazon that has two brackets so I can slide it off easily for travel or move it from the garage/ living room to the bedroom .
Mine did not have a cabinet for the TV just selves but it seems like it would work for you
If you want can post a link when I get to my real PC instead of this tablet?
