Fresh water fill

As the owner of a Jayco Eagle 2011 37RLQS. Does anyone know of a modification I can make to fill the fresh water tank quicker than using the factory inlet. It takes close to 1/2 hour to fill. I was thinking of removing the the low point potable water drain valve and installing a hose bib to be closer to fresh water tank and being able to use the 1/2 id hose that runs to water tank. Thanks

My 80 gallon tank takes 25 minutes or so to fill. I think the issue is the flow is constricted via the valves and hoses at the convenience center.
Oner advantage of having it fill slowly is you don'y have belching issues taht are common with gravity fill tanks.

Just one more unnecessary "improvement", IMO. Don't know why they can't leave the simple solutions alone. My biggest issue when filling is that I can't vent my fresh tank fast enough and it will "projectile vomit" on me when I pull the hose out...unless I'm standing to the side. Fun to have someone else fill the tank, though. 🙂

Is there a air by pass as you fill your tank. if not, it will take a long time as the flow amount will be low. Had this problem on one of my rvs.

Thanks for the quick replies. But my fifth wheel does not have a gravity fill.
I've taken the back off my utility panel and mine appears to be the same setup as azbohunter, but it seems that going into the low point drain should help.

What kind of fill do you have? Something on the side to shove a hose in? Through the city water?
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

Interested to see if anyone comes up with something on this one? I have the same issues, the problem is in the design, all the water to fill the fresh water tank has to pass through the valve of which only has about a 5/16 diameter hole. That just does not allow a lot of water to pass in a short period of time, regardless of pressure.
It is not like many trailers that have a fill spout you stick the hose end in. (although I have thought about adding one of those)

You may have a kink in your fill hose it should not take that long to fill. How many GPM is the hose you are filling with and can you stick it in the tank on full blast? or does it shoot out at you? That should be and 1 1/2" line so it should fill quick unless there is another problem or you have a massive tank.

I would check to see if rig has a built in pressure reducers. These reduce pressure but restrict the flow as well.
If it has one, I would take it out, buy a Watts or Valterra external regulator.
Check your inlet to see if it has a screen washer. it could be clogged.

How many gallons does your's hold? Mine holds 80 gallons and it took about 15-20 mins...Don't know of a faster way, but wasn't in a hurry when I was filling it:)
